Seattle/Portland" Meet in the Middle"
Feb 9, 2010 at 6:17 PM Post #106 of 250
I'll be taking a station wagon up there from Portland, so there's room for at least 3 people to join me. I think the Park&Ride is a good choice, although 9 seems a bit early. Isn't the meet from 11:30 to 5?

Updated the 1st post with attendees and gear. Please let me know what I need to update and to add. At least we get a glimpse what is going to be there.

I agree the park and ride sounds like a good idea, and I have no problem meeting at 9:00 am

@ Big Poppa - Here's what I'm planning on bringing:
Cowon D2, Laptop, 2Move, D10, Westone UM1, ATH-ESW9, Yuin PK1 and PK3

I might bring my old portable CD player as a back-up source and the wall warts for the amps. Also maybe my ATH-A700, though I noticed a few days ago that the wing pads are a little worse for wear. Not sure if it's something a simple cleaning will fix or if the foam is spontaneously disintegrating. >.< And I just replaced the dang ear pads with leathers too.

I don't have anything on the internal memory for the D2 yet, so I was thinking of trying to put some FLAC on it, unless someone has a burning desire to hear another format. The SD card is filled with ogg ~192 bitrate, as is the laptop.

Yes, 9 probably is a bit early. It's a 90 minute drive (per Google), so we should plan to shove off by 10. Let's shoot for meeting around 9:45 at Delta Park.

Also, should I also bring a bunch of empty shipping cartons (appx 2-3 cu ft) to better facilitate packing up the cars? I've noticed that people tend to bring their gear in backpacks and soft bags, which don't stack too well in the back of a van.

The first meet I went to I brought a soft duffel bag. Next time I wised up and packed everything up into a suitcase with wheels.

Bringing shipping cartons is a good idea. Some blankets or old sheets or towels (as long as they're not dusty) could help as well. I have a few that I could bring.

I'll be at Delta Park at 9:45.

Also, if there are people coming from Portland who need a ride and can't reasonably get to Delta Park, speak up or PM me.

Since we have a 3-day holiday this coming weekend, what do you say we have a mini meet first as a warm up ?

Gil, did you pick out a place for the aftermeet yet? Then we can get an idea of who wants to stick around for that. I imagine we don't want to hang out in Centralia too long since it's an hour and half drive back for most people.

They have a McMenamins. Could more discussion be needed?
