Seattle Spring meet: 3.22.08!!!
I like the numerology of it (3*2) +2=8.

The next two meets should be doozies. Spring will begin our push to get more vendor participation, and at least one summer meet will be hosted by Gil who is donating his garage space and double-barrel barbecue.

So March...June...September...December...and maybe more. Last weekend's mini meet was a lot of fun, but I hope in the future we can have mini meets as well as "last minute" meets so that everyone can participate.

I also want to give some thought (with all of you, as well) to building up some themed meets. Yeah, that's right. No challenge in just bringing all of your gear. How about a Desert Island gear meet? A "cheap and dirty" meet with voting? Maybe an analog-only challenge... Lots and lots of ideas to consider.

Finally, I want to think about raising some money. Sure would be neat to leave the library world and rent a far-out room at a hotel with catering or something, eh? No, I'm not doin' a car wash because I just don't have a bikini, but a raffle might fit the bill.

I should be able to make the March date.

Themes are cool. For the last three meets, I set a theme for myself.
May meet - bring everything under the sun theme
Nov meet - DIY gear theme
Dec meet - whatever-is-at-hand-and-will-only-take-one-trip-from-the-car theme

And fundraisers are cool. During the May meet, I took donations, and that just covered the cost of food.

The more the merrier, Mr. Tadashi. Looks like you're a total fan of APureSound. Cool.

Sergio, can you get the Rudi again? I promise to bring my AD2000.

I can probably make this one. I can bring my setup again (imac/L3000/DHA3000). Looks like I'm bringing a body bag by carrying it in a huge duffle bag.

My CK2III will (finally) make it's first public appearance. I may also bring a few other goodies.

I'm looking forward to Gil's garage meet and bbq. Not only did I find out we live right near each other in Ballard, but Gil knows all these cool places to go supposedly right around the corner from where I live.

Since I'm on the Westside, am I at war with the Eastside Mafia?

Actually, you live next to the Don himself. I think the Eastside Mafia is just a moniker to cover for his activities in the west side. I wouldn't be surprised if he has some connections to half of the eateries in your neighborhood, given his food distribution connection.

Would you trust me if I was the size of Mike? I may be missing a few things but a meal is not one of them. Went to Ezell's last night.Been in my hood going on 5 years now, been to a few places, know a few people. With the job I have, I'm everywhere in my hood. And for good measure Sunday BBQed steaks and ribs. Never know what I'm doing until I'm doing it.

Gil, I hope my ideas are okay with you. I know you have some things planned to get your garage just right, so I just wanted to respect that.

I hope we can hear from some of our new unregistered members again for this meet. In our previous impression thread I think we had counted five new members, so if you're out there...c'mon down!

I'm going to hold off for a week or two to see what size of group we can get this time. We might consider getting the large room in Bellevue this time, or see if we can find a suitable one on the West side for a change. Don't know yet.

Dude, I just need to restock my freezer. I BBQ a lot. Broadview, Ballard, or Greenwood Libraries would be nice change in scenery. My house with meat Sizzling, music, and good company is always a good meet.
