I heard a track called "Cabin Fever" by an artist named Passenger on WDET (Detroit Public Radio). It had some really cool drum beat that I dug.. luckily, I remembered the words seashore sessions and head over to Amazon. I just picked up Seashore Sessions Volume One from some Amazon zShop.

It's dubbed as an "international jazz, funk, & soul fusions" collection -- and it's some bad-arse stuff. It's a collection out of Germany on the E:motion label distributed by EFA (search by /title/ for "seashore" at the top).

It's a fun, funky melange of percussions, a bit of techno backend, sweet melodies on keyboards and vocals from ten different artists. Sweet bass lines on track #1 (sample from the site) and #5. And of course, that damn drum beat on #10 that caught my ear to begin with. If you dig on some dance, funk, and soul -- this is your bag. Just FYI, there's no straight 4:4 bump-bump-bump-bump dance music.. it's far more medium-tempo-head-bobbin' funky than that.
