Now I got a FiiO E12 Mont Blanc which is often described as "a portable amp that is almost a desktop amp". And I love the little thing, it's a monstrous little beast.
But now I'm at the point where I'm looking at planar-magnetic headphones. Now, Yes my FiiO E12 can push a few Planars to listenable levels, but in particular on audeze's page they recommend 1-4 Watts. and have a max of 15 Watts for 200ms.
This has sparked an interest. I seek an AMP (preferably not DAC/AMP) that has at least 4 Watts @ 20 ohms (for LCD-X) More wattage is preferable. Now I already assume that the extra power will not make too much of a difference but i wanna hear it if i can.
Price is not an issue. However amps at different price points would be nice. What has the highest value will probably be what I chose though.
