I have noticed that search is either only partly-functional or simply not functional (incomplete index) on almost all large forums that use the vBulletin software that I've been to. Is there something in the vBulletin software that causes the search function to break after a certain number of posts are reached?

Yeah, I got the advanced search to work. Didn't find an obvious one, and then tried it again, and it worked.
