any recommendations?

I'm looking for a sealed headphone with:

1) good isolation
2) can be powered by a mp3 player w/o amp
3) comfy
4) good sound

preferably under $150.

thank you.

What kind of music do you listen to? If rock, I say groove to the Beyerdynamic 250-80.

I think the DT 250-80 will work for you. NB: I have the 250-250, but I've read a lot about the -80, as well. They are comfortable, pretty easily driven by an ipod (but will improve some with an amp), and are very well-suited to rock. They are on the bassier/darker side, but not overly so, and I don't find them to be veiled sounding. While they don't have the impact of Grados, they do groove nicely.

The ear cups are kind of small, though. In one way this is an advantage because it makes them slightly more portable than a lot of other phones. The disdvantage is if you have big ears, as do I. If my ears were just a smidgen bigger, it would make the fit odd.

edit: btw, last time I checked, Amazon was selling them for around USD 135. IIRC, though, it was difficult to tell if it was the -250 or the -80.

If good isolation is priority #1, then I'd suggest Sennheiser HD280. An MP3 player -- even a 1xAAA MuVo -- drives it surprisingly well, and the sound is good although not my personal favorite. Comfort is potentially an issue: the HD280 squeezes pretty hard. Other than that, though, I'd recommend it, and at $100 or so, it's in your budget range.

Yea, I wanted to suggest the same one.
