Yep. Definite sound quality increase coming from my 1st gen nano. Sounds great... do have to turn the volume up slightly more for the same effect though.

I realized this the first time listening to the 530's. The sound was really bad on some recordings. I now use apple lossless and the sound is much improved.

Of course there worth it without an amp! aren't they aimed at portable audio anyway?
