I ordered some Shure SE215s for the amazing noise isolation, to block out nighttime bumps, slams, knocks, and other furniture sounds from extremely inconsiderate upstairs roommates. (Can't reason with them or landlord to just be quieter, have already tried.)

I had planned to use these to replace my beyerdynamic Byrons, which are *RIDICULOUSLY* comfortable. I occasionally forget they are in my ears.

The sound quality is fantastic, but trying them out I found myself waking up in the middle of the night due to how painful they were in my ears. I even tried the small tips.

Getting ready to send them back but I wanted to see if anyone here had any thoughts. I've used Comply foam tips without any problems during the day for several hours, but I am not keen on essentially a $17/mo recurring charge to be able to use these. (Estimating 2 weeks usage on a pair before they wear out or get too dirty to use, $20/3pack).
