I have a iPod Photo (4th Gen) and the hard drive is failing on me. I know most guys would replace the mechanical drive with a e.g. 32GB Compact Flash (CF).

I am wondering if SD card could be used by junctioning with a SD -> CF adapter, before placing them along with the mini-IDE adapter into the iPod.

Normally: CF card + mini-IDE adapter into iPod
Proposed: SD + SD->CF adapter + mini-IDE adapter into iPod

Have anyone successfully made one that works without any hiccups ? Using a SD card is more future-proof since we are moving away from CFcards, IMHO

Thz a lot.
Or Maybe I will just put down 10bucks for the sd/cf adapter and let everyone know whether it works or not

Yeah, that'd be awesome.  I know that I was looking around for this a while ago, and I found nothing aside from that iRiver mod.  Those SD-to-CF adapters must be pretty new...

But I'd love to hear your results.  SDHC is where it's at (for now of course:).
