I've just spent the afternoon and early evening enjoying my brand new Schiit Vali amp. Very nice indeed ! I spent quality time with the new amp and my three sets of 'phones. With my AKG K 240 Studio's, Grado SR-125's, and Sony MDR 1A's, the sound of music was much more sublime with the Vali than with my Project Headbox II. While all three sounded really nice with the Vali, I seem to like the match of the Vali with the Sony MDR 1A's the best. Eva Cassidy, Allman Brothers Band (acoustic live), Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, John Coltrane, and acoustic Jerry Garcia all sound smooth, rich, well balanced, and "just right." I am looking forward to many hours of happy listening with my new set-up in my comfortable leather chair by the fireplace, with my dog Yogi by my side. Should make the upcoming upstate New York winter a lot easier to tolerate.
