After an hour or two of listening via this setup,

the successor was determined like hell not to be outdone!

A Valiant effort! Staggeringly good in direct, fresh comparison! I can only be awash in delight! [Tube is Lansdale 'long-plate' 12AU7.]

Another couple of benefits from using 12AU7 vs 5670. The lower gain (20x vs 35x) provides more 'headroom' to accomodate musical crescendi. Also, the Vali 3 high-gain (front toggle switch) setting can be readily used. Consistent with my experience with other Schiit h/p/a, HG sounds better than LG.

I couldn’t tell you as I’m just a lowly burger flipper when it comes to tubes, but I’m going to read up and find out.👍
I am genuinely shocked at how good it sounds.

I have tried 14 different valves in the Vali 3 and to me this valve is head and shoulders better than any of the others.

The whole sound stage has grown bass is deep with real punch .
It presents its self as slightly forward with a beautiful top end.
This has got to be the best £17.00 I have ever spent on fleebay.

I purchased it from a private seller not a dealer.

Meanwhile, this just arrived from the Czech Republic. You guys have to stop posting about all these tubes, as I have no self control!
That is a nice tube!

I know, with all these posts, I wound up with over 20 mostly different tubes, at roughly 5,000 hours per tube I have to live at least to 136 years, but I also listen to my Cornscala’s too!

I had to look it up and I don't understand why somebody decided to give a pair of speakers a name that sounds like an imaginary drug friend

The 12AU7 residency in Vali 3 continues ...

This time, Brimar CV4003 (cryo treated: Upscale Audio) ... extraordinary staging, very dynamic, without amusical 'etch', clarity in abundance! Focal Clear OG is a great match for Vali 3.

Anyone tried Mullard (1960's Blackburn) 12AU7 or Amperex (Bugle Boy) 12AU7 ?

Does anybody have a link for a trustworthy adapter towards 12au7? I wanna try some on my Vali 3.

Did you get #4 or #9? (Blue number on top of the tube)
