If you can spend an extra $25-$35 on, say, a Raytheon 5670 tube, Vali 2++ is a great place to dive into the hybrid SS / VT headphone amplifier experience.

I'm loving the Vali 2÷÷. I replaced the stock tube with a JAN G.E 5670W NOS one for $20. Big improvement in my opinion. Then I replaced it with a G.E. 5670 5 star tube that's used but tested strong. I prefer it to the JAN G.E 5670W. It's great little amp with a lot inexpensive tube rolling options.

Yup, it didn't seem worth the money to me.
That's with Fiio JH3, Fiio FD1, Campfire Audio Satsuma, Campfire Audio Vega 2016 and Sony XBA-H3.
Mind you, I don't like pink floyd, queen, post '70 Fleetwood Mac or Bowie either and them are all popular with the masses.
