I will be lurking for your review, it would be nice to finally have a solid new production tube manufacture that can rival the near perfection of yesteryear tubes.I have only purchased NOS tubes thus far, but several people who normally only recommend NOS tubes spoke favorably about the PSVANE tubes. It got me curious enough to give them a shot.
Edit:
It also gives me hope for new production tubes, as the NOS tube supply won't last forever. Sadly all of the new production 6SN7s I have seen are too wide to roll in the Valhalla 3.![]()

I've used various Psvane Horizon tubes in a few of my amps. They're very good overall, but not quite as good as a decent NOS tube. Unfortunately I've yet to hear any new production tube match a halfway decent NOS tubeI will be lurking for your review, it would be nice to finally have a solid new production tube manufacture that can rival the near perfection of yesteryear tubes.
@adamwzi I've found their 12AT7-AT is very good and the most enjoyable of the PSVANE Horizon lot which I've heard so far. It's currently the tube I'm rolling on my Vali 3.
I will reach out to him at some point, but more tubes first.Yeah. That's a negatory. Bottle shaped won't work. I thought you were referring to the standard shaped tubes and perhaps the width of the base.
Perhaps these are worth a try?

Perhaps reach out to @Deyan and see if he can do a custom off-set adapter for you.![]()

Aside: Future Tube goals might require his assistance.

Apos Ray tubes have received good reviews. I'd try them, but they're made in China, so hard pass from me.I will be lurking for your review, it would be nice to finally have a solid new production tube manufacture that can rival the near perfection of yesteryear tubes.

Plus way overpriced IMO. The cost of a pair of the 6SN7 is up there with some of the upper end NOS tubes. I haven't heard them yet though, so no comments on sonics.Apos Ray tubes have received good reviews. I'd try them, but they're made in China, so hard pass from me.

Many suspect that these are just hand-picked and custom labeled PSvanes.
If I remember correctly, they claimed that they test all tubes that they order, and only a small percentage make the cut. How true this is, is anyone's guess. Many suspect that these are just hand-picked and custom labeled PSvanes.![]()

That would make sense if they're cherry picking the best from an existing manufacturer and then rebranding them.
As for other new-build tubes, Electro Harmonix or Genelec Gold Lion in the Valhalla 3? Or NOS still better?

What's better for you depends on you. I can tell you the the PSVane Horizon 12A*7 with adapters sound splendid in VH3 for me.
If you want a no muss - no fuss solution, the Genelec 6922s are native to VH3 (no adapter needed) and sound fantastic. (I always thought they were over hyped but they really sing in VH3.)
Both are new production so none of the associated NOS/used tube nervosa.

Thanks for the quick write up on your experience. I will definitely keep in them mind when I get a squirrel up my arse and want to try rolling with the new production tubes like the path @MindBreak is taking.I've used various Psvane Horizon tubes in a few of my amps. They're very good overall, but not quite as good as a decent NOS tube. Unfortunately I've yet to hear any new production tube match a halfway decent NOS tubeThat being said they're not bad at all, still very enjoyable. I really like their 2a3, I use it my Stratus quite a bit. It's not as refined as my NOS RCAs, but they bring more bass impact, which I like on occasion. Their 6SN7 is a solid all arounder. Slightly hazy vs my NOS alternatives, but still enjoyable. The oddball in the their lineup for me was their EL34. I just don't like it much, period. I have a few NOS EL34s from different manufacturers, and they all handily beat the Psvane. The Psvane sounds dull, lacking in dynamics and separation. Makes my Aegis sound way too lethargic and hazy. Their 12AU7 is quite good. Again, bassier than my other 12AU7s, with good clarity and separation. Overall my favorite so far in the Horizon line.
Thanks for the recommendation @DACattack for the 12at7. Knowing myself once I get the VH3 I'll have a pretty decent collection of tubes. Who knows, tube collection might start to rival my bourbon

As for new production tubes besides psvane and apos, has anyone checked out Tube Amp Doctor or TADs? I'm not sure how correct this info was but I've heard they are designed in Germany sent to same factory as psvane for manufacturing then sent back for rigorous quality testing back in Germany.

I can't speak to how Tube Amp Doctor tubes are in Valhalla 3 but I currently have the TAD bundle (which includes different tube types than are used in V3) in my Aegis and they're excellent for new production tubes. Very well made, as one might expect out of Germany. I do second @Ripper2860 recommendation on the Genelec 6922s. I've rotated those in my Folkvangr on occasion and haven't been disappointed at all. Very good for new production as well, and as he mentioned they're native and don't require the additional cost of adapters. As for new production tubes besides psvane and apos, has anyone checked out Tube Amp Doctor or TADs?

Who are you and what have you done with Ripper?
I was trying to lure them into tube rolling and then setting the hook. You didn't think I was going to stop there did you?

Pulling out the old Vali 3 playbook for the Valhalla 3 I see.I was trying to lure them into tube rolling and then setting the hook. You didn't think I was going to stop there did you?![]()
