At their table they stated pretty definitively that it will be released in March. But as we know, the best laid plans.... + Jason's Law
By the way, they sound simply amazing. For those Vali 3 aficionados out there, I heard a tremendous jump between the Valhalla 2 and 3 similiar to the jump of the various Vali units to the Vali 3. You will be quite impressed. Huge step up from the 2.
I'll add my thoughts here. The Valhalla 3 may just replace all my amps. Yes, I have rolled some tubes in, but all combinations that I'd used with Valhalla 2. When you can drive planars like the Arya Stealth and Aeon Noire so well, and have them benefit from everything that tubes give them it really is astonishing. And the no feedback setting is permanently on. If you only use the Valhalla 2 with HD600 or HD650, then maybe just tube roll, but even then, Valhalla 3 is better. Detail is outstanding, as well as separation, even on stock tubes.
It's good to see some positive reviews coming in. This might be the next amp for me. I've already brought it up to my wife twice without any push back which is very encouraging. Lol.
I've been using the V3 almost exclusively as a preamp to my Aegir into my Zu Omen IIs. It is far better than a Saga+ or a Lyr 3. It is tubier and has better imaging and just sounds so musical and live that I would not want to go back. The only reason I would use something else is because I need a remote. Jason really has outdone himself. My stereo now sounds better than any I ever expected to own, and for not much money.
I have received my replacement V3 on Friday and have rolled the tubes from the start. And thankfully enough, I have not experienced a single audio drop throughout the weekend. Overall soundstage is a bit different as well, and slightly more enjoyable?
@j0val I also tried (and will keep) using my perfectly matched pair 6N6P GGs and JJ ECC88 Gold Pins and really admire the sound provided. The JJs provide this added warmth that puts a small emphasis on that wonderful tube sound. Depending on your headphones and audio preferences, I can understand why so many folks online had suggested the JJs over the Gold Lions for frequent/regular listening use.
