Schiit Valhalla 3 - Impressions Thread

Is there any set of HPs that do not sound AWESOME on VH3. What wonderful and versatile tube amp!!

Rall SR1a, Tungsten (SS & DS), and HE-6 (any) come to mind... but for more reasonable loads reviews are mighty good.

I purchased 4 of them and they are well built, fit VH3 nicely, and the enclosure being made of bakelite can endure the heat VH3 generates.

I'm guessing maybe the ModHouse Tungsten might not sound great, but maybe they would sound good, too!

Welp. Mines dropping out but instead of just doing an RMA for a known issue, they said to try switching around the tubes....

Be patient. I know it can be frustrating but they're just doing their due diligence since it does not happen to all early units. Hang in there and work the process with them..

That's quite normal. They asked me if I changed the tubes and used different gain settings before they would start the return process.

Same here. Even cuts out with 250 ohm beyers

Mine was cutting out almost on command with Senn HD650's.

It's weird. Once the cut outs started, they seemed to pile up quickly.

And the HE6SEV2 sounded pretty good until they put the amp in protection mode. Not used them since as the Arya Stealth are better in every way on this amp. I need to circle back on the Elex, I think I just need the right tube combination for them.

Valhalla 3 ordered. The Vali 3 wunderkind suits my needs well but the Valhalla looks cool and reportedly sounds great so I imagine I can find room for both.
