I did have one protection drop out today, I don’t know why, I hadn’t been doing anything different and it came after I’d been listening for about an hour already. It went out for about 20 seconds and came back. Been fine since then.
I feel like I should just do the exchange and be done with it. But I don’t want to lose my amp for a few days!

@robusa I was sad for the week, but I still had my fulla at work and a vali 2 and modi at home, and honestly, it was a good sobering reality check on just how enjoyable my other gear was/is (who am I kidding, the Valhalla 3 just squashes my Fulla in just about every way) FWIW, I think its worth the wait to have the peace of mind. Mine has been absolutely flawless since the new one came back! I was trying my Arya's with and without the impedance multiplier, switching gains, listening louder than I normally would, etc.
Its nice to know I can set the settings appropriately for whatever headphone I'm using, and just listen without wondering if its going to cut out on that next bass hit.

Is it possible not all pre-May 9 Valhalla 3's experience dropouts?
For example, my V3 shipped May 7, and I've yet to experience a single dropout listening with Atrium Closed, Tungsten DS, 109 Pro, and Aeon Noire so far, all through the stock tubes.
Feedback. No feedback. Impedance multiplier. No impedance multiplier. Hasn't mattered. No dropouts.
To trip the protection and cause a dropout, maybe I need different headphones, different tubes, or both?

My early VH3 protection cut-outs got progressively worse. I would highly encourage you to reach out to Schiit and see if your issue warrants a replacement. Then again, it does have a 5 year warranty so I guess if it is not really an issue now, you're safe waiting to see if it gets to be a problem.
FedEx in my area would not let me choose a FedEx location to hold the V3, just Walgreens. I had a terrible experience with trying to use a Walgreens in the past.
Where about do you live? FedEx stations within Walgreens are worse than stand-alone FedEx Office centres. The Walgreen employees 'staffing' the FedEx stations should be wearing
Surprised me a lot. Even stuck on some Massive Attack to see if the bass was truly there. I think the Arya Stealth are better, but these are very, very good together. I did pop the WE396A in for these. Multiplier worked really well and using that much juice meant that the amp stayed kinda cool.

Yes, it is. I’ve been listening to mine exclusively with Dan Clark planars, impedance multiplier engaged. I have rolled the input tubes to Raytheon 5670 windmill getters, and have experienced no dropouts. No idea.

My first drop out was with high gain, no feedback, and multiplier turned on while listening to some harder to drive Planar headphones for just under 2 hours.
Used two of those headphones with the amp on for 8 hours yesterday without issue. Definitely worth getting the replacement, for piece of mind.
A guy orders himself a HD600 and nekminnit he can't stay away from the Valhalla 3 thread. 24hrs ago I didn't need a VH3 and now I do?
What kind of is that?
