Schiit Modi Multibit 2 vs. Topping E50.
Multibit (+NOS) vs. Delta Sigma.

Is there an audible difference?

Two tracks, recorded three times. 1x E50, 1x MMb2 OS, 1x NOS. Filenames: W,X,Y.

Ummm... don't we have a little issue with whatever DAC we use to playback? It's double-DACing and we don't have the permits for that sort of thing around here.

Best if you sent me the DACs and I can audition on tracks of my choosing. Except I already have MM2 (And MM1) and prefer you didn't send the Topping, because terrible things might happen to that spec-sheet DAC.

Well of course, influenced your chain comes on top. As a topping so to speak 😂
Yet you will hear a difference if it exists.

Had a quick listen. I'm not sure my ears are golden enough to notice the differences.

For me, these sorts of tests confirm that the issues of DACs and measurements relating to transparency have been a solved problem for a long time. Anything now, SINAD and such, is just marketing attempts at clawing up the ranking leaderboards.

Thanks for taking the time to make these recordings. They're always fun to play with.

Edit: I should note that I have heard differences between DACs in the past. The most recent one being the D10s which had sibilant treble. That was interesting because it was a nice example of measurements not telling the whole story.
