Never said I didn't like it. I just didn't care for the pairing with the MJ3. Like I could get OK volume with MJ3 in high gain, but something else in the sound was off probably due to the amp not having enough to really drive it properly and that's not me judging the sound signature.

Okay, this was really helpful, so MJ3 is out, seems that I will have to get the Soncoz SPG1 power amp to power this cans also given that my S17 it's a little bit less powerful than the MJ3.

Yeah Im a little bit sad to hear that. If I keep hearing it Im going to have to switch up my Mjolnir3 plans and instead snag a ragnarok or Aune s17 instead. Jury still out on the Aune, too.
Ragnarok handles tf out of it.

Jason' end of 2023/2024 preview youtube video answered the "can Mjonir3 drive tungsten" with, "Maybe, but, why not just get Ragnarok?"
Well, bc IF Mj3 could handle it I kinda want that old school class-A , full choked beast. And I don't have speakers so I wouldnt even being utilizing the Ragnarok fully in a way. And it costs more.

On paper MJ3 puts out 10% less watts than my Fiio K9 Pro , so, that seems like it might not be enough- again, on paper.
Maybe it makes up for it's lower wattage numbers with high current and voltage figures, idk. Hell, I'm not an engineer.

But I WANT to love it. I want to pair silver Mjonir3 with a silver Yggy+GS2 and some brushed aluminum Tungstens. That's already more than I would normally spend , but, I'm gonna make a go of it. I don't need any PC upgrades this year since RTX 4090 is ridiculously powerful lol.

The S17 is a little bit less powerful than the MJ3, basically the S17 gives you 16v and the MJ3 17v, so for al practical purposes, the same power delivery wise, the real differences are going to be in SQ and technicalities, so if the MJ3 cannot drive well enough the Tungsten, all else being equal, neither can the S17.

Have you tried any ZMF Headphones? Highly recommend trying a Auteur Classic or Caldera with the MJ3 and Yggy+ GS2 (That's what I currently have also).

I havent actually. On my list to try for sure; especially Caldera.

Yeah I'm afraid that is proving to be the case.
Ragnarok won't have any trouble with them though.
I'm curious how people feel about Jot2 with Tungsten, as well as with Topping A70. Those would be the more budget options.
I was really hoping the Aune s17 or Mjolnir3 would be the one as both of them have some "special sauce" going on and seem great values for the money.
Both would be great with my HE1000 Stealths but, I will not stop trying until I get a Tungsten So I have to prep for that.

Well at 32Ohm the MJ3 puts out only 2W while Jot2 puts out 6W and Rag puts out 24W. So my inexpensive Jot2 can drive things pretty well. Whether they sound good or not is to be seen.

My only issue is I enjoy the voicing of Mj3 far better than Jot2. As far as resolving room noise, and adding depth to music, Mj3 smokes Jot. For me it's not a close comparison, even for the money. I've never heard a Rag2 before, but I've always been under the impression it's a cracked out Jot2. I wish it was easier to find a demo or used unit to compare them all.

Yes i prefer It that way feels more engaing and Better Dynamics but probably it's a mind trick and alternating the PP and SE based on what i listen, with the Stealth depending on the track i'm comfortably between 10 and 11

You can always use MJ3 as preamp to a jot2.

I highly recommend trying the Live Vibe points. Probably the most legit "tweak" I've ever done.
