I really hate to say this after multiple delays and lack of proper communication... but the wait was, WORTH IT. Unless I have quirky issue of some kind which I doubt... this is going to stay put, I think. With Diana MR, I already noticed better separation and staging (which this isn't the best for the price... so it helps a lot), dynamic is great which brings more life to music. Can't wait till it goes through burn in phase. Next to check out is HE1000SE after few days of burn in on this one as well as getting acquainted
(I feel it had more of what I mentioned than Aune S17... despite it has less power than Aune on spec. But of course, it is not immediate switched A/B test... so...take that with lot of grain of salt).

Last night, connected a new-to-me streamer to the MJ3's RCA. Horrified to hear hummmmmm. No hum on the XLR connected to the current streamer.

Broken streamer? Nope, without the streamer attached the hum was still there, just quieter.

Without the cables attached, iirc, no hum.

Suggestions? Send it back to Schiit and get a silver upgrade ?

No hum when no cables attached? That would mean your MJ3 is fine and your problem is somewhere else.
Try new RCA cables and (if not already) try to move the streamer on the same outlet/power strip.
Also, some RCA cable have the shield attached to one side only: you should connect that side to the streamer end. If not marked with an arrow, try reversing the cable.

Law , i'm really curios on your impression once you'll be finally able to try It, in my case i returned the cyan 2 and sold the bifrost 2/64 before the cyan arrived because i was sure that the pair with the Stealth would be great so now i'm without dac waiting to find a Merason Pow 1 in the used market and unable to listen to anything.

Yea it seems to be silver units going out today, i placed my order 12/19 but it’s a black unit. Hopefully it ships out this coming week, the wait hurts more when other people are receiving shipping notifications lol
