Its a great amplifier but if it keeps failing then I cannot back it anymore. I am now attached to the tube sound so I am going to get a refund for the Lyr + and get the Cayin HA-3A and see where that takes me....

Again, I cannot help but think that having two operating modes in Lyr 3+ just adds to the circuit / layout complexity ==> greater chance of things going ‘squif’. I have had no issues with the single-mode Lyr 3 even with adapters such as 6J5+6J5 to 6SN7 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I'm sure whatever the defect is will be resolved eventually, but as of right now every single person in this thread that has bought one in the past four months or so has had an issue with theirs. If I've overlooked someone, hopefully they speak up.

Personally if I were shopping for an amp in this price range I'd wait for the issue to clear up before buying it. Either an influx of new owners that are able to go weeks without anything breaking, or some official word on it from Schiit acknowledging the issue and affirming its been corrected.
I have had my unit since Jan 18 and have put a good few hundred hours on it. I thought there was a problem with the left channel producing minimal signal last week but after removing and reinserting the unit it cleared up and has worked perfectly since then. I'm inclined to think it was most likely a poor cable connection occasioned by my carelessness.
Other than that I've had no issues, with buttons, overheating, or anything else. It does sound really good.

Pretty sure the point is that most Lyr+ purchased from roughly last November on are likely going to have problems. But yeah, I purchased mine on Oct. 14th and share your experience. I think I'll go melt my brain right now! ... and then listen to some music ;-)

I bought my Lyr+ (#03401053) second-hand from @Andrewteee in November 2022 who I believe received it new in September 2022.
He had just broken it in, putting about 100 hours on it.

Since I've had it, it has seen daily use and has had zero issues.
The sound, performance and reliability have been outstanding.

I really feel for all of you that have been experiencing issues with the more recent units, almost to the point of feeling guilty that mine has been issue-free. :frowning2:

I stay tuned into this thread hoping to see some success stories and happy endings to the bumpy journeys.

I wish everyone struggling with their units all the best, and hope Schitt both takes care of their existing customers facing issues, and gets their build issues resolved for their future customers.

Right. It matters when it was purchased. When did you get yours @Joppmann ?

I bought mine a while back, close to when they came out. Came back to the forum and there are 25 pages of content - wow. I still don't have issues, so may be for the ones having them they were part of a bad batch. The amps should have warranties.

So I am sending back my replacement unit to Schiit and decided to give it one more try and get a 3rd unit in. I have spent a good amount on tubes for this amp and its been the best experience with music in comparison to other amps so as they say "3rd times the charm!".
