Its funny that we differentiate radio dj from club dj because, well, they're different. On my birth certificate in the box for father's occupation it reads 'radio announcer.'
The renter at the old house didn't want to care for our last remaining chicken, and they are also prohibited here, so the wife bought a small greenhouse type thing for us to hide her here... thank goodness it has wheels, as the neighbor on the other side of the fence we had her on stopped by and asked us to move it, their dog is part wolf and was halfway to digging it's way over...
You’re missing the point.
You’ve gotta leave the two hundred grand worth of BMWs and Range Rovers out for everyone to see. How else are your neighbors to know that you’re six digits in debt doing really well?
I’ve always had the golden rule: if I can’t fit my cars in the garage, then I am a lazy, good for nothing, layabout, sack of potatoes, useless, excuse for a human…. Ever since I decided that, I’ve never NOT been that way longer than 6 weeks at any point. (Sometimes one needs a sheltered space for construction/painting/staining projects; but that is literally the ONLY exception over last 35+ years).
Guess I was "a lazy, good for nothing, layabout, sack of potatoes, useless, excuse for a human…." until last Fall. Our double garage had room on one side for my wife's car. I wasn't ever going to maneuver my Tacoma around a tree and miss a roof overhang column to get it in the other side. Since empty spaces collect stuff, we had a path to the fridge out there.
When we traded my pickup on a new car, I took on the RAV4. We worked a couple weekends donating, trashing, and rearranging stuff to make room. It's still a little tricky to get a compact vehicle in and out, but I'm making it work. Bonus is that my wife fears backing into the tree and refuses to drive anything parked in that side of the garage.
A buddy down the street from me has his very expensive motorhome encased in a building. Once they remove the collapsed building they will know the damage to the RV. Sometimes even being inside does not help.
Yikes. We added a storage building for farm equipment last summer ... so it will all be destroyed at once if a storm like that comes . Insurance allows me to sleep at night when it storms.
We'd out grown the 1970's built storage we had, and with the cost of equipment these days, it needs to be under a roof. I hope you and your neighbors get through this as smoothly as possible.
And, finally, with respect to Yggdrasil, we’re taking the unprecedented step of pre-announcing details of the Yggdrasil Singular, AKA Byggy, and enabling current Yggdrasil owners to sign up to be first in line for upgrades this summer.
After trying to read all that I can about the new DACs, I think it's just too hard to put these things into words and the only choice that makes sense for me is an in-person audition, ideally against an OG Yggy.
Other than its Gen3 USB imploding, my OG Yggy has not felt insufficient in any way. Despite it being 11 yrs old, I am afraid of shelling out any sum for something that might not be an upgrade, especially when some people seem to think A2 was more about trading one thing for another and there isn't consensus on MIB/LIM or whether Unison is truly an upgrade over non-USB inputs.
I'd love to take advantage of the fact that I should be within driving distance to the Schiitr if/when it's open for business. I can lug my OG Yggy there, if necessary.

I feel the same way. It amuses me that more than half of my neighbors can't get any cars in the garage much less put a car in both stalls. Not uncommon to see a combined value of $100K+ sitting in the rain/hail/sun while the garage protects what looks like junk in cardboard boxes.
My friends and I who were early fans of R.E.M. all pick 'Murmer' as #1, but AftP is a strong contender.
1. Murmer
2. Automatic for the People
3. Fables of the Reconstruction
4. Life's Rich Pageant
5. Reckoning
6. Document
7. New Adventures in Hi-Fi
8. Green
9. Out of Time
Next week I'd probably shuffle #6-9, but that other release from '98 never should have seen the light of day.
Recall seeing them in the 'Rat' in Boston in Spring '84, then the Orpheum later that year in support of 'Reckoning' playing after Dream Syndicate. Everybody stood up for the whole thing and I became much more selective after that in going to concerts since I found it immensely annoying. Never saw them again.
Thanks very much. The acreage no longer has farm equipment parked everywhere. Some was at other locations (more theft around here these days). Basically, I've achieved both Roy's and ACP's comments - I have the expensive stuff under a roof and also let neighbors know about the new debt.
Rainy and gloomy day here, and a difficult day at work to boot. After a hectic day, I finally have time for a cup of tea and an hour of listening on headphones until my last meeting of the day at 2.
Here's a lovely, mellow record. Doing wonders to reduce my stress level.
Happy listening all, whenever and however you can manage it.
