Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Is this a good place to make suggestions for Biggy? I trust ya'all for the sound; but I'd really like to be able to dim the lights conveniently (the wife frowns on duct tape). Something as simple as a translucent plastic plug would do. Maybe something magical with Forkbeard?
Also, while I like having multiple connection options, I'll only use two. Could we get Forkbeard to disable unused ones so that the front panel button only cycles through what we use? Again, I'd like it to be wife friendly.
The remote has a built in magnet. Just pop it onto the front of Byggy to block the lights. Then, you never loose the remote either...! 🤣

Thank you @Ripper2860 , the socket savers did the trick to lower the temps.

I love CCR.

The first album I ever bought was Cosmo's Factory, in 1970 and they were the first band I ever saw play live , in 1971.
I bought Green River at the same time as I bought the first Crosby, Stills, and Nash album.🤪

I just discovered the belt drive turntable I am restoring for @DACattack is nearly identical to the Pioneer PL-12D. These were manufactured from 1972-1976 or so and most likely built by CEC.

Far out. I have a Pioneer PL-12D-II in my basement.

Simple operation and very few parts to break. I can see why they last so well. I also located a NOS cartridge on EBay , the AT 91 that is recommended for this table. CEC also built for JVC as I recall so I imagine they had something similar.😉

I don’t know why you guys are so concerned about hot tubes.

They’re supposed to get hot. 🤷🏻‍♂️
I have tube amps with 185° driver tubes and 235° power tubes.
The tubes being hot is not the issue, it is everything around them so that I don't burn myself by accident.

Nice, that was my first turntable, with a Shure m44 cartridge. plugged into a Pioneer sx-424.

Since we are talking about the cos of digital manipulation of sound (volume). let me ask the realted question...

1. Is any one using the OPRA capability with Roon (for HP EQ)?
2. What is your experience and any pros/cons)?
I have used it and still use it for a few things. A lot of friends on how well the EQ has been done. I use it in Roon Arc for my MoonDrop x Crinnicle Dusk that need it. Using Crin's EQ setting worked really nicely. I've played around with offer headphones, I think Oratory's EQ for the Arya Stealth is good. But a lot depends on your HRTF and how that headphone works for you. Sometimes they are a good place to start off.
