Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Congratulations! My first grandchild was born in November. It changes you completely. He already has his grandparents completely wrapped around his tiny fingers.
My first hits 2 at the end of June, next one due in the Fall. Lots of fun. Can't wait for the fascination for minerals, paper air planes, dinos, volcanos or whatever he comes up with.

According to USPS Tracking, my Mimir is still ''Moving Through Network''

Good grief...
They should probably upgrade from 10BaseT to 2.5Gbps fibre.

Definitely looking forward to your impressions of Mimir. I'm considering one as well. 😄

Congratulations on the new grandchild. You'd better baby proof those Apogee's...! 🥳🤯
Haha, my grandaughter (aged 14 months) is more the risk right now due to her mobility and curiousity, though, with both in Arizona and me in NH, I’ve some time to strategize… Fortunately, I have my guard dog; I’ll just have to play PF Animals on continuous loop (which would “lock” him in position!)

Personally I tend to focus on the sound of piano, and guitars when listening to tracks on new/old gear. It may come from having heard them live growing up in NYC (in house, street performances (buskers), and Broadway Shows). I normally rate equipment on how well it does with reproducing the sound of those instruments.
I think I read somewhere that piano is one of the most difficult instruments to reproduce, realistically, from a recording.

For that reason, I have used piano, as well as unamplified acoustic music to 'test' any new audio gear.

I think Mike thought that Bluegrass was a good test of Audio gear.

Fortunately, I am very happy with the way my system reproduces piano, acoustic guitar, human voice.... as well as music with massive transients, like Rock music.

I don't think it's good enough to allow me to 'enjoy' Marilyn Manson though:beyersmile:

That would require alchemy. not just audio engineering.

@ArmchairPhilosopher if an FB module is moved from one device to another, does the FB app automatically recognize the new device? Is a Scan or reset necessary?
All of the information related to a specific device is either stored in the app or on the device itself. The module is device-agnostic. It doesn't matter what device it's attached to and you can freely switch them around without "breaking" anything.

But I probably don't have to point out that you will get the best user experience if you simply get a module for each device you want to control via Forkbeard and just leave them connected the entire time, otherwise the devices that temporarily don't have a module installed would still remain in your stacks in the app but appear disconnected for the time that they don't have a module. To the app, a device that has its module removed will look exactly the same as a device that's powered down.

Nothing better than grandchildren. You have time, experience, patience, money, wisdom that you probably dd not have when your own child was born, during which time you may be still establishing a relationship, one or two careers, housing, etc;

The way i put it is i could be mowing my lawn and if my parents or my best buddy or you come over i am going to finish mowing before i engage. if one of my 3 grandkids come over I'm going to stop mowing and don't care if i don't finish for a couple of days

All 3 are local and we pick up our 8 year old grandson from school every Monday afternoon and have him until 7:30 or so at night.

Here is the 8 year old in his early days

Interesting.

My question is: is there memory in the upcoming update of the Gungnir 2 to store more than one setting for the 5 band PEQ?

Storing and recalling EQ presets will be a feature within the app. It's not likely that it'll be in the app when the Gungnir 2 update launches, but it will probably be available a few weeks after that.
And this won't be limited to Gungnir 2 but work the same for all products with (p)EQ controlled by Forkbeard.

Yes, I read that the issue was with recording it properly- its sheer size made it very difficult to mic in a way that could capture all the sound.
