Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

If I had a spare headshell for my SOTA Sapphire III's SME-309 tonearm, I'd ship it off to you so you could work one of yours up for me and Bowmoreman...in rosewood. :grinning:
For low mass, a headshell in balsa or a similar low density wood would be an interesting experiment.

* The Lucas motto: "Get home before dark."
* Lucas is the patent holder for the short circuit.
* Lucas - Inventor of the first intermittent wiper.
* Lucas - Inventor of the self-dimming headlamp.
* The three position Lucas switch - Dim, Flicker and Off.
* The Original Anti-Theft Device - Lucas Electrics.
* Lucas is an acronym for Loose Unsoldered Connections and Splices

I love it.🤪
Positive ground for the lose…

Edit: Low mass for a SME 309 headshell (in wood) I think wouldn’t be ideal. SME arms are all more “medium mass”, and the Magnesium headshell in the 309 is bespoke/dedicated to just that arm; 3009’s and other such-like are incompatible. (Unfortunately)

lol no, see I can slice the wood ever so thin using high density wood. Less chance of vibration.

Mine is also still at the “order received” stage, now there are no more available at Amazon.de. Strange. Did they in fact have any at all?
I went via eBay a site in Germany… we shall see… it isn’t so much that I will worry over-much… seems they didn’t HAVE “in physical possession”, but, what-ever, it’s a self-birthday present, so not critical if this poke takes a while… Worst case, doesn’t happen and I get my money back at some indeterminate time in the future.

Would adding a TT isolation base be a more cost-effective sonic upgrade than a new TT/arm/cartridge? Perhaps others with similar Pro-ject Carbon setups have specific recommendations?
Debut Carbon Esprit DC SB - The Beatles 1964 model, is a carbon fiber turntable.
I own a Pro-Ject Debut Esprit DC SB "The Beatles 1964"model and it's a carbon fiber turntable. I set it upon an Andover Audio original Spinbase with its Voo Doo Tech IsoGroove™ stuff that is said to eliminate feedback between its built in speakers and the turntable, and it sounds just fine.

So I wouldst wager that a genuine TT isolation base would work better and probably look a LOT cooler doing it! I like cool looking Schiit!

But then I am a bit of a Philistine when it comes to Audio. Albeit one with a rather ribald sense of humor! :beerchug:

As is my (ARCHAIC ALERT!!) wont when it comes to truth, that 'table is beautifully simple and simply beautiful. Well done, my brother!

It is hard to go wrong with one inch thick birdseye maple with that density of eyes. From my experience that wood is one in a hundred if not more.😉

I had an enjoyable day at AXPONA today. I met up with a couple of retired friends, and we wandered around listening for the rooms with the most interesting music. We paid some attention to the gear...

My favorite sound came from Klipsch La Scalas and the MBL room. Both had stunningly beautiful sound. The exhibitors did a wonderful job setting up their rooms. And Klipsch had some nice swag. A stop at the MBL room is a must for me every year.

I also came across these in the Exhibition Hall, which reminded me of our stammtisch here.

Very nice and I love La Scalas.🤪 I also just ordered one of their VU meter T shirts.

Olive wood. Now that I have sent a few samples out, local friends are commissioning specific hardwoods so I hope to have a minimum of five wood types on display.

Listening to Art Pepper+11
Stunning. Beautiful work and an excellent choice of woods. Can't wait to see the others you have chosen.

Obviously you will need to make one from birdseye maple to match the plinth at some point.
