Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

@Jason Stoddard Just ordered one!! I've been eyeing either the Hel or Fulla for a while now and this sealed the deal. I cannot wait to share my thoughts with everyone on it. Huge fan of your guys' work over at Schiit! I did get the Gunnr with a walwart for the extra power. It also helps that it is sexy as hell from an aesthetic standpoint (us gamers have to stare at this stuff on our desk after all, ha!)

Yep. The moment you accept another country’s citizenship, you’re automatically losing your German one.
If you want to keep both, you have to file an application with your German consulate general in which you have to make a case for why you should be permitted to keep both and they’ll decide on a case-by-case basis. Among the reasons that tend to be accepted are owning a business with employees in Germany or if you have to care for sick relatives there.
I couldn’t think of a good enough reason, I don’t intend to ever move back, and I wasn’t in the mood to have my fate decided by some faceless clerk on a power trip. So I didn’t file and just let things take it’s natural course.

At least that’s how it was back in 2017 when I got my American citizenship. I think this might have (finally) changed a year or two after I got mine, but I’m not sure. I quite frankly stopped caring about these things once I got naturalized.

But whether it has since changed or not, the entire policy always felt incredibly petty to me. Like if an entire country is pouting at you like a little child and burning your passport because you left them.

Once upon a time I had a job as a scientist. The vice president of the institute where I worked had come from Germany as a young man. At his retirement party he related he had been informed America had a cold climate. He told the story of stepping off the plane in New York, mid summer, wearing his father's great coat from the war on the Russian front.

Speaking of Russia, I'm enjoying my new boxed set of Shostakovich symphonies on the Tyr.

I am spending the whole day sorting out the tagging on the CDs. Maybe it's that apple music doesn't import tags, but the whole set is titled and described differently. Sigh.
A good reason to buy from Qobuz?

Also maybe end of year!

Needed a bit of venting...crude spray-painted prototype...

I guess there's a good chance that Schiit will need to take some of my money later this year…

Speaking of paint/color...any ETA on Silver Saga 2?
Why do you ask me for schedules when you know Jason's Law?

Bottom line, someday soon some will come in, and then we'll list them. Unfortunately I'm not sure exactly when.

You know this is the Internet, right? He can make comments and post cat pics from Germany as well.
Yeah, but then all his posts would be in German. Duh.

The only knighthood I would ever receive would be from a condom shop, so a British passport is of limited value,
Would that be an MTE, Member of the Order of the Trojan Empire?
