I've always wished I had the laserdisc releases of the Star Wars Original Trilogy, as that was the best media to view them on before Lucas ruined them with digital effects in the 90s.I have seen every version of "Blade Runner" made on every media type, and I think it was best on LD.
Deuce…"Blinded by the light,
Wrapped up like a douche,
The holy roller in the night."
The less expensive Aeon RT Closed (sold by both DCA and Drop) are also very open, and rival the Aeon 2 Opens that I have. And I think the Aeon RTs are the bargain of the century… If only they folded like the Aeon 2s…Although I no longer have them, the DCA Aeon 2 Closed were quite impressive in how they sounded so open for a closed design. Quite a bit more open sounding than my HD-6XX's even. I have the Aeon Noires now which have an overall presentation I prefer to the A2C's, but memory being what it is I don't think they do the 'open' thing at quite the same level.
Have ZMF Atticus as well which are a closed design. They put up a very nice soundstage that I've never felt to be lacking, but I've never had any ZMF open designs to compare them to.
Would you accept a Star Trek: The Original Motion Picture or a Raiders of the Lost Ark instead?I've always wished I had the laserdisc releases of the Star Wars Original Trilogy, as that was the best media to view them on before Lucas ruined them with digital effects in the 90s.
Fans have revived the original film versions. https://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/ent/unaltered-star-wars-trilogy.htmlI've always wished I had the laserdisc releases of the Star Wars Original Trilogy, as that was the best media to view them on before Lucas ruined them with digital effects in the 90s.
Lemme know what you think of that RCA LSC Heifetz/Munch…. I *love* mine… his tone… delectableYep, see all framing will be outside the 13” bottom width so even with box sets there is a 1/4” clearance on each side. The bottom is 3/4” red oak.

I remember Tyll Hertsens owned such device and used it during his Big Sound event, look up his articles from that time and you should be able to find itIf you need ideas for other new things, I need a new thing. I have a Thingy that does PEQ in the digital domain, and will output in AES, Optical, and COAX (and USB, but I need that USB port for something else). I want to use the PEQ Thingy to go Digital Out from Optical, AES, or COAX to another DAC Thingy that only accepts USB. I am finding that searching for "Optical to USB output adapter" is not a common / easy thing...because "USB needs a Host". I have found exactly 1 device that does this, and it mentions "Please note that it can’t be connected directly to a USB device like a DAC, it must be connected to a USB host like a computer."
I have an Eitr... I need a "Reverse Eitr".
It would be cool if an adapter box existed that had these inputs / outputs with the ability to route from any input to any output. Maybe something the size of the Modius I have, maybe even with remote control to handle any input switching (if necessary). Maybe I'm the only person on the planet who needs this thingy.
INPUT: AES, Optical, COAX, USB
OUTPUT: AES, Optical, COAX, USB
I have a Bluesound Node that will do this after I stumbled on it... Optical In and will spit out USB; however, I have to deal with the Bluesound software to select it, and it feels rigged. I want something simple that just spits out USB with the touch of a button.
I will try to remember to do that, I had to set aside my cleaning process as I build space for more LPs.Lemme know what you think of that RCA LSC Heifetz/Munch…. I *love* mine… his tone… delectable
Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night...Deuce…
I got lucky, as I have the THX remastered originals, and the AC-3 Dolby Digital box set. No Greedo shot first for me...!I've always wished I had the laserdisc releases of the Star Wars Original Trilogy, as that was the best media to view them on before Lucas ruined them with digital effects in the 90s.
