Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Knowing @Ableza's history (all whisky, not bourbon) this is a powerful complement for Oregon Spirit. :)

I don't drink anything alcoholic, so I don't know who drinks what. OTOH, I've been here long enough to know if Ableza recommends or praises something, it's met some pretty high standards.

Wow. You give me way too much credit. I just like what I like and I sometimes say so! But thank you.

As RCBINTN mentioned, I do not normally drink bourbon, as I find the jacks and jims of the world far too sweet and syrupy. This one wasn't. :)

You didn't post that, but I know you thought it. :D

** I too view your comment as high praise. So much so, that I'll be making a trip to Total Wine this weekend to buy a bottle.

I agree. I would suspect that the capacitor coupled cathode follower is allowing DC voltage variations to appear at the preamp output, and the power amp is amplifying it. Put a DC millivolt meter at the preamp out and see [no signal] whether the preamp dc output is fluctuating.
Thanks for jumping in Sam, I have been busy with other things and was not able to give this more thought. :beerchug:

Freya actually is more costly, 6n6p's x8 usually costs less than good 6922's x2
.... that was B.C. (before cowen); this is A.D. (after depletion) ... 🤷🏻‍♂️😳😒

Someone here (can't remember who) recommended the Joe Sample cd, Invitation.
I just wanted to say thank you.
It is beyond most excellent!

Very talented...have enjoyed him over the years for sure. He's played in a lot of different bands/styles.

Probably my favorite album was an acoustic trio (The Three) with Ray Brown & Shelly Manne.

Great album and it has my favourite bassist + a greatly unappreciated drummer.

A fantastic match for 2016 vintage Audeze LCD-X. Back to WE JW2C51 for a while ....

Oh, please. So what if all the '50's are hoarded gone? There's plenty of '60's still available....

Back to the WE, huh? Strange, but it doesn't light my fire in the Vali 3. I only have one (serious this time) and maybe it's just a bad sample, I don't know. Comes across a bit stridently into the DCA Aeon Noires. I should probably get another one just to see. WE had very consistent quality and quality control, but maybe this one was a 4:59 PM Friday before a holiday tube....
