Lol this is why I don't post wide shots of my setups, a bunch zoom-in'ers to jump on ya!
What @45longcolt meant to say. That door is the most direct route to a bathroom, and with dual subs it simply cannot be blocked -- ever! And while the bowels may well be moving around a tiny bit, I haven't noted any deleterious effect -- yet.
Not sure, but here’s a sample of his lute playing:
Youtube has a nice concert, but helas.. It says "Not available".. Sorry.Alison Krauss.
I think your priorities are off. I suggest you remove the door to the bathroom, put the sub where it needs to go for best sound. No big deal for people to step over the sub. Then you are done. That door is the most direct route to a bathroom, so it cannot be blocked 24/7. And while the sub may well be moving around a tiny bit, I haven't noted any deleterious effect.

Addendum: if the bathroom does not have an exhaust fan you might want to one.
With Union station live?Youtube has a nice concert, but helas.. It says "Not available".. Sorry.
Only 33?Back to the earlier discussion on Telarcs, I finally got to unpacking the CD's this morning. Have a few more of them than I remembered. This is the glass half-empty part of having too much stuff. Not that there can ever be too much audio stuff of course. But if it were possible on a theoretical basis I'd be guilty, so I'm just glad it's not possible.
Some of the sound coming from the open bathroom door will also add to the low end sound.I think your priorities are off. I suggest you remove the door to the bathroom, put the sub where it needs to go for best sound. No big deal for people to step over the sub. Then you are done.

I like that idea a lot.I am about to round up some tubes. My suggestion would be to listen to each, form an opinion, then look on EBay etc. for prices on the specific tubes you like. Even better maybe have a family member swap tubes and write down the order without letting you see which is which.
I found nine brands I can lend you, I want to clean them and run them all through my tester. I believe they range in price from $20-$200 each or so. No GE’sI like that idea a lot.
It keeps me honest.
Looking forward to this!!
I checked a few sources and the "good stuff" like most NOS is really up there in price.
Many thanks for the audition!!
Will be interesting to see how I hear and share with you and see how your choices compare.
Alex
FYI: the only thing I have tested is the stock 6N3P and the JJ ECC 82 via the adapter.
IMO the JJ ECC82 wins, hands down. Clear, crisp, articulate etc...Quite a difference here..
