Now I kinda want the Vali 3... but I have a DV, Asgard 1 and 3, and a THX amp...

BUT maybe the Vali 3 will be the next level of MAGIC (w/affordable tube) for my Grado collection (GS1000, SR60e, SR325x, RS2x, PS500x)?

Will be $300 CDN at my door... I just promised to stop buying stuff and pay for school... argh
Have you heard or tried the Magni Piety? Works really well with Grado headphones from my personal experience

Life’s good here too 😁

Thanks, but would cost more than Vali 3 which seems more interesting based on what I have seen written... I feel barring a lottery win, I'm set for solid state.

Agreed!!! I would love to find a remastered version of 'Streetwalker'. The released CD SUCKS!!!!!
As well as the Focus gig, way back in ‘72, I also saw Jan Akkerman, at a small local venue about 10 years ago.
He was brilliant.
An album of his which I highly recommend (if you can find a copy) is ‘10,000 Clowns on a Rainy Day’.
It’s a live album.
I have it on double CD.
The playing, and recording quality, are both superb.

Edit: This is the album

Not quite. But one could say that about practically any MFGs 'stock' tubes. The stock aren't too bad, but the GE tubes being recommended by others are good and easily acquired without breaking the bank. One's gotta start somewhere.
Which tube should I be getting?

LOL, the initial cost of Vali is less than Piety. The Vali comes with a 'rabbit hole' that makes it more interesting. TubesRGreat.

She’s awesome.

Have you seen who she’s married to?
Jean Todt, former Ferrari F1 team principal. (Someone will beat me to this, but…)

There are 2 GE tubes that are affordable and getting quite a bit of accolades -- the GE 5670 Five Star and the GE JAN 5670W. Of course, the 50s/60s Western Electric WE396A, 60s Foton 6N3P triple mica, and Tung-sol smoked glass 2C51 are always a 'top-tier' tube, but they are not as cheap/inexpensive.

I just received my Vali 3 and after extensive listening over the last day, as a preamp and with HPs (ranging from 13 ohms to 300 ohms), my sincerest recommendation is...

GET THE VALI 3! IT IS FREAKIN' AMAZING and outside of "Last Calls" REPRESENTS THE HIGHEST VALUE IN THE SCHIIT LINE-UP!!!

GET IT!!!!

NOW!!!!

Have you bought it yet?

WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU WAITING FOR???!!!

** IMHO, of course.
Funny. But can’t fault anything you said there. Dear Mr. Pumpy: Ripper’s right. Oh, and I think that was a very clever stall, fuzzing your mic so your chair couldn’t understand you. Kidding, but funny! All the best on your journey!
