I have an Asgard 3 and don't find that it runs hot. I have a Vali 2++ that I enjoy, and I might consider stepping up to the Vali 3. You'll see the WE396A tube mentioned a lot but the GE 5-Star 5670 and GE JAN 5670W both sound good and can be had for less. Good luck.

GE JAN 5670W is very good.

Didst thou bypass the DB board or find a NOS one because from what I know of them, the board is a royal pain in the oinkmen. Either way, gorgeous and I am happy for you!

ORT
I worked on it as well, no reason to bypass it. I have heard people say that is why you should buy the 9090 version but those people must not have found the proper repair person. On three occasions in my life I have needed to be able to repair what one of my teams could not fix so I have had some experience problem solving. There was a time where we did not live in a “throw away” society. Now there is considerable value in some of the old gear. This is my goal with the 318.

For something different a couple of evenings ago, I decided to listen to a prog rock box set compilation that's been sitting unlistened to for a good long while. Why not? I like Rush, some Pink Floyd, Marillion when Fish was on vocals, and bits and pieces of Genesis, so no problem. Until this track hit. The vocals are...interesting.

I love this one.

The story behind this performance is that is is a longer piece, normally played at a lower tempo. The network told them to cut some parts because there was a time limit. Being artistically stubborn and not wanting to leave parts of the song out of the performance they simply decided to speed the song up to match the available time.. The clip you linked to is a clipped version of that up-tempo performance.
Here's the full highspeed version in better IQ..

Enjoy her quite a bit - and was watching her Pearl Jam commentary just last night. She actually offers insights instead of simply ooohhhhs and aaaahhhs and a look of shock from 88% of the YouTubers out there.
I feel that I'm learning things from her and she does love Bruce Dickinson!

Watching it a second time, man, everything is so great. Really taken with the smooth and tight chops that drummer's got.

There are a lot of wonderful artists at the Midnight Special floor show.
