Vali 3 review Round 4
A few days ago I listened to my 4th tube, another Raytheon 5670. I was surprised how different it sounded compared to the other. The first word that came to me was “sweeter”. I listened and enjoyed that tube for a couple of sessions. I could live with this tube!

Last night I went back to the WE396A to refresh my memory of its sound. I wonder if Jason voiced the Vali 3 with these tubes because they just seem to compliment each other perfectly. I heard more air and space but also more texture and definition of instruments. For the money this combo is a freakin steal! IMHO.

Thanks, I've contacted Scheet USA and been waiting for there answer for two days. Maybe they are just busy?
They probably are, but they are usually quicker than that. You should in any event almost immediately have gotten an automated response that your inquiry was received in their system.

And Georgia wasn’t even in totality. Totality is a binary thing. Miss it by 2 miles, and Nada, zip, zilch… you’ll get darker, but no true “magic”. It really is worth it to go the extra “mile”. Yeah, you’ll get the really cool/weird shadows, and darkness/twilight effects, and cooling…

I know one guy whose life passion is literally to spend, as he calls it: “2 hours in the Moons shadow before I die”… he’s up to 1:49 at this point, and hopes for another 3-4 minutes this time (he’s in Texas so maybe at current risk).

I know I sound the fanboy, but it really IS other-worldly

It is truly a great experience. I'm fortunate to live in the exact area where the 2017 and 2024 eclipse paths of totality cross.

A planetary object that is ~250,000 miles from Earth perfectly blocks a star ~93 million miles (average) from Earth. It's fun to ponder how amazing that is.

I will be out tonight, so I want to post my Jazz recommendation before heading out...

Listening to this with balanced RS1x and I'm blown away. Thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks go out to @artur9 for a couple gifts I received this morning. One in particular is quite humorous from a Pennsylvania distiller.🤪IMG_7680.jpeg

For

I think Jason actually doesn't want stringent moderation as is usual on other threads.

People just have to be better.

Kudos to that!

I've stopped reading some threads because anyone who disagreed with the moderator about anything or had unfavourable comments to share about site sponsors got banned.

No point wasting time on that sort of discussion forum.

Lokius will fix that for the HD6XX. And then you also have the benefit of EQ for other needs should they arise. Way cheaper than $500.
The HD6XX are my daily cans, and a few little tweaks on the Lokius yields many dividends.

Same goes for Loki(+) mini. I swap between HD6XX and DT880/250&600ohm frequently, and it does a great job of EQing the deficiencies for both. Loki has saved me from the futile search for that "perfect" set of cans.

Or, if you get a Loki Max, you can preset three EQ profiles so you may switch to the desired curve for each headphone with the press of a button. Besides the fact that it is incredibly quiet, the memory present is to me the best feature of the Max version.

I love that Schiit went all in and crafted three different great EQ's for different needs and different stacks, all with prime quality by all accounts. I think for my more budgetary headphone stack requirements, Loki Mini makes the most sense. As I acquire and dial in my full speaker system down the road (where are those danged Money Trees?!), a Loki Max makes awesome sense. We're so spoiled for choice!
