Fedex lied, Vali 3 did not arrive. hopefully today!! yeah!

In the meantime, I got a vali2 + adapter for 12AU7's.

Dont have any exotic 12Au7s...this is a JJ ECC 82.

JJ has been improving their quality. I've got a quad of 6CA7 in one amp and a pair of KT77 in another amp.

Bendix/USa 2C51/396a. Sounding just great. What a bargain this Vali 3.

2023 was the year of Schiit solid state, 2024 will be a year full of tubes. Why did I sell my tubes last year?😂

Nice! I've never heard a Bendix 2C51, but assuming it's like every other tube Bendix made it has to be awesome.

And I have five shelves and the base acts as a shelf, but that is overkill for most people. Maybe the maple with lacewood?IMG_7672.jpeg
A rack for gear won't work since I'll be using a Loki Mini, Saga S, Pioneer Elite DVD player for cd's along with either a Hafler 120 or 220 amp.
However, a 3 or 4 tier cd rack might be ultra hip!

But, yup always a but and YMMV:

In Asheville at the Burial Brewing Craft Beer location on Ashevilles "South Slope"...this was the best
sandwich of this type..

A Pastrami laced Reubin type...the difference here is the Pastrami is THICK cut and FRIED like candy bacon...almost.

This one IMO was and still is THE BEST I have ever had...lots of 9+'s this one is a 10.
MJ3 and Folkvangr style strong!! lol

I shrugged at the $19 price, but one bite and it was here take all my money..
Oh those are "garlic" fries...

:>)
Life is good!

I have enjoyed the sandwiches and fries at that establishment. Fries were outstanding, beer was good too.

It's a really cool place to visit. Almost over-the-top in some respects with the decor and money spent on the place, but done in a classy and elegant way and not ostentatious. Well worth putting on the agenda if you're in the area. My plant did their kitchen ventilation system, so I made more than one trip there...with many free beers in the process. 🤣
About that kitchen ventilation system >>>>> Did you specify sheet cardboard instead of sheet metal?

I will give that some thought!! Heck I could use one myself come to think of it.🤪🤪

So all this talk of Reubens leads me to 2 stories. One is that me and my wife had a Reuben pizza the night we met. We used to go back and have it at least once a year until the restaurant unfortunately closed 12 years later. I still get cravings for it now.

Second was the Reuben sandwich that I had in Kentucky. The bread wasn't rye, it had coleslaw on the side instead of sauerkraut, the cheese was cheddar not Swiss and well it was steak not corned beef. It had no thousand Island dressing in it. It was a steak sandwich with cheese in reality. And it was absolutely delicious. But it was a bit of a stretch to call it a Reuben.
