Agree. I grew up in Valparaiso ... it's a suburb of Chicago.
I have spent a lot of time in Chicago and nearly always had deep dish pizza. I like New York style as well. College towns also tend to have wonderful pizza since there is a lot of competition.

Ok you tube "experts"..

Getting ready to review the Vali 3.

I ran across some info on the "ECC42" tube family...

Like there is none???

From a diy site:
The Russian 6N3P dual triode is often listed as ECC42 equivalent. I searched everywhere for ECC42 datasheets. Could not find any. Did that tube really exist at some time?

Reply:
Not ECC42 but 6CC42 or 2C51 equivalent.
gm = 5.5 mA/V and mu = 35
Cheers,
Reply 2:
Those listed as equivalents appear to be noval B9A based (9 pins), but an ECC42 would have been Rimlock (8 pins). I conclude that the ECC42 never existed. Possibly someone somewhere thought that the 6CC42 in the East implied the existence of an ECC42 in the West?

So was there or is there a ECC42 family or is it 6CC42 ?

Alex

Pix: Notice the 6N3p's are referenced with the 6CC42 vs ECC42.

I have ECC40's and ECC84's which both have the rimlock base configuration, but I have never seen an ECC42. I agree with the DIY site notes you provided above. The 6CC42 does exist and is a direct plug-in substitute for the 6N3P in Vali 3 (in fact, running a Tesla in mine right now).

This is what I found in Kentucky and Indiana. I believe Cincinnati has a similar variation. Back home in Illinois we would have referred to this as a variation of chili-mac possibly. Personally with such dishes we usually buy pico de gallo or add cans of Ro Tel, something we tend to keep in the cupboard. IMG_7668.png

By no means do I consider this proper chili.IMG_7669.jpeg
Cincinnati chili.

Mucho Gratias Mi Amigo!
Concur!

Need to send Jason a not to remove the ref to ECC42 for Vali 3.

A cheese-n-onion-oozing PNW smash burger with a pungent piney West Coast IPA is actually the height of cuisine. 👌🏻

But, yup always a but and YMMV:

In Asheville at the Burial Brewing Craft Beer location on Ashevilles "South Slope"...this was the best
sandwich of this type..

A Pastrami laced Reubin type...the difference here is the Pastrami is THICK cut and FRIED like candy bacon...almost.

This one IMO was and still is THE BEST I have ever had...lots of 9+'s this one is a 10.
MJ3 and Folkvangr style strong!! lol

I shrugged at the $19 price, but one bite and it was here take all my money..
Oh those are "garlic" fries...

:>)

I do a pretty decent smash burger.🤪 always two layers of beef and cheese, cooked outdoors on a flat top griddle.

Beans or no beans, fine by me. The chili on spaghetti is just strange, don't think I can dig it.

Big fan of venison chili, that may just be the central Michigan in me talking though.
of all the meats for chili, venison is the best. It's even better than elk, something about the flavor combo.
