He’s close enough to frisbee an LP into TX, and there ain’t even a barbed wire fence in the way. In this case, close counts…
I'll hold off on flingin' the Shaun Cassidy LP's until AP gets there. Wouldn't want him to miss out on such musical treasures.

Paper manuals in 2024? Seems wasteful. We can’t buy Schiit products without ordering them online — customers aren’t faxing or mailing in orders. We’re using phones, tablets and computers to buy our Schiit. We can handle going online to view the manual. Give yourself (and your team) a break, Jason. Just put a link to the manual in the order confirmation email and on the product detail page. Solved.

...
Since this will be my last move forever*, I'll have a gigantic pile of cardboard to create a shrine out of dispose of. :anguished:
....
I eagerly await your creation of the next big Route 66 attraction: World's Biggest Pile of Cardboard.

I will certainly look forward to getting some more kicks on Route 66.

Let's discuss manuals:

1. I know if we get rid of them, someone's gonna complain about us being cheap/assholes/etc. Understood.
2. However, if we get rid of them, we're right there with $3500 products (Cintiq) with no manuals and with massively complex apps and other stupid stuff with no manuals.
3. Most manuals are about 10% useful information and 90% scolding (looking at tools especially).
4. Manuals are almost always somewhat wrong.

So: manuals? Pro? Con? Indifferent?

Edit: I linked Tyler to this, so he'll definitely read your opinions.

Edit2: also, for the high school debate team champions, don't try to shift this to plastic bags and other crap in the box. We get it. We've been trying to eliminate plastic bags. Nothing is good enough so far. You get to choose between weirdo semi-plastic molded stuff to hold the non-bagged product in place, and bags. Some things (Tyrs) require foam, period. Magnis and Midgards and stuff like that have been moved to, or are being moved to, all-recycled cardboard. We beat FedEx to this, FWIW.
I'm always disappointed when a product does not include a manual. Despite always leaving them in the box, after one reading, and then downloading a copy to keep on the computer. Please always include a sort of quick setup "manual" with a complete manual just a download away. Complete meaning, with full technical specs, FAQ, everything.

Plastic bags so gauche. Need those felt bags the big boys* give you. maybe with shaped denim insulation instead of the evil foam.

* big boys are big because that describes the dent in your wallet

Ditch the paper manual but keep the snark. Maybe add a little extra snark to make up for losing the paper manual.
Is it possible to make QR codes snarky? That would be cool.

--or --

7. Get a better phone and cut down on the coffee.
8. Get a free QR code reader app that is so simple even people like me can use it....without reading a manual. 🤣

Fueled by good bourbon (at least in Captain Cardboard’s case)!
I have to keep up my image as Buffalo (Trace) Bill. It's hard work, but somebody has to do it and nobody wants to work anymore.

Damnit.....some kids on my lawn again. Be right back.

I purchased a heat gun to shrink heat shrink tubing on wires. It came with a sticker [amongst others], that proclaimed "Do not use as a hair dryer". ...
preamble: the thing is, most of those warnings are the result of someone doing just the thing the warning says not to do.

so, where's the internet picture of the person who used the heat gun as a hair dryer? We want to see that!
