I thought he later clarified that it is locked to 2w max.

I'm an idiot (yes, still), but I don't think that publicly stated/listed specs is the same as actual performance...

Take a car rated at 250 HP, but it does 257 HP real world conditions...

Or the rated performance of Aegir vs the Stereophile measurements. (MOAR power at 8 ohm, vs slightly less at 4 ohm if IRC vs stated specs.... or maybe that was reversed...)

I think Vidar 1 did more power then stated as well, under certain conditions....based off Jason's measurements... believe the measurements were posted here or on sbaf.

I think some of the discrepancy in stated vs real world performance is marketing, some of it is uniformity, some of it is cya (cover your arse).

Vidar 2 has much more power than Aegir, though the gain level is few dB different, however, the SPL it produce at same pot position is only a little bit lower at Aegir, which shocked me its spec is only 20W at 8 ohms .... and it doesn't run hot.

Sure, I agree, but that wasn't what I was commenting on...

I was saying that stated specs vs actual specs are usually not the same...

On anything..

Take a look a 2x4 lumber.

Or a 3 qt sauce pan, I bought one a few weeks ago, nominal capacity was 3 quarts, vs 2.75 quarts actual.

an ipad or iphone with 64 gigs of storage gets you what, like 62 & change of actual space and iOS takes up what, 6-9 gigs of storage, so you are left with 55ish gigs, and if you get to less then 5 percent of space remaining, your tablet or phone runs like garbage... so you have like 53 gigs of usable storage??

Thats what I was trying to convey, stated vs actual ,it wasnt meant to be Aegir vs Vidar power wise, or heat wise.

But, again, im an idiot, so maybe you get me, and I dont get you :)

Tube lovers, a good tool for cleaning pins.
This is a Swiss made watch repair tool, good for polishing, just rub it gently at the pins without wearing too much to it.

I got your meaning at the original post, I agree with you that its power can be more than the specification.

9400 pages now (only 600 more to go).
on pace to reach 10,000 "magic" pages on 5/15...but my guess is 4/27/24.

@Rensek that's why newer phones have 128GB base memory...just checked my phone and IOS17.x.x is just a hair under 11GB. and "10 cup" coffee makers...

@Ohno Schiitizen glad you like your heckuva deal Aegir (OG). Also, audio power is logarithmic (100W vs. 50W is -3dB, and 100W vs. 25W is -6dB)

Yup, I didn't remember the spec. precisely, though 6dB less, it still has enough headroom for my application, the Aegir is reeeaaaallllyyyy enjoyable !
