I lobbed it up there hoping someone would return my serve. :D

It's actually quite a funny series if you love low-brow humor. Especially after a few drinks. Had me and the wife hooked after the 1st 10 minutes of the 1st episode.
Great show! Martha Plimpton’s character was always using the wrong words to hilarious effect.

Panasonic Viera Plasma that is almost 15 years old. Still strong.
Two of those here (42" 48" that is older than my youngest? and a 55" that is a teen). Panasonic, pls come back to the U.S. market...pretty please?

The "new" Sony (4-5yo) has a pretty picture but is a pain.

Condolences. I can't believe doom/sludge is a music genre?

It's not just a continuous loop of 99 bottles of whiskey on the wall?
It probably is, just slowed to the slowest possible tempo and then obliterated with a crushing reverb chord that lasts 3 minutes before the next strum of the guitar. It's why the songs are 23 minutes long.

I love it.

Yeah, beyond increased potential for image burn-in (which always goes away), this thing has been rock solid.

There once was a company that did make tube based car amplifiers. If I recall, they used some weird type of tube for the finals. I'll post if I remember their name.
There were a couple... The tubes were incased, kinda like original Vali.

Sounded ok, I tried one in our demo car, but it was more hype... We could "soften" the sound with Nordost flat wire and resisters.

Most of the tube magic is in the preamp section most times.

With apologies for derailing great discussion around whiskeys- a topic I otherwise greatly enjoy- I must praise my beloved Gumby for how it’s playing (painting? Depicting?) a nuanced, fun electronic album below.

Highly recommended and quite intoxicating to listen to, even without spirits!

Listened to a few tracks on amazon, liked them and ordered the cd. Thx for the tip aaaand my 7 year old a2 gumby thanks you too.

My next TV will be a computer monitor because of this s**t. Just take the darn signal and light up the pixels, I don't need "smarts" in a TV.

Thinking a bit more, since it used to be claimed that TVs made one dumb, maybe the TV can solve that problem on its own?
My TVs aren't connected to the internet. I use Apple TV which gives a bit more control over privacy. Then I just ignore the "bwaaah! No Internet connection" prompts from the TV itself.

I'm looking for opinions/advice on Schiit amplification for my setup. My 20+ year old Musical Fidelity A3.2 integrated amp has started having some problems, and I'm looking to replace it. I think it's 115 wpc into 8 ohms, 185 into 4 ohms. My speakers are Triangle Celsius ES towers (92db, impedance is nominal 8 ohms with a minimum of 4 ohms) with a powered Paradigm sub. I considered the Schiit Ragnarok, but I already have a DAC and headphone amp that I like, so I sort of feel like I'd be spending $ on features that I don't really need. That led me to Schiit separates. The Saga+ with Vidar seems like a good option, but I'm also intrigued by the upcoming Aegir 2. Do you think it would be enough power for my system? I listen to a lot of jazz, but I do like to listen to big orchestral music, too. My room is moderately sized, but I sometimes crank up some rock while I'm in the kitchen, the next room over. I don't want the Aegir 2 to run out of steam! Thoughts?
