I loathe football and in truth, I do not care for any sports at all. If others do, good for them.

Agreed except for Motorsport. That will always have significance in my life.

Well, to the chagrin of many, the Chiefs won the Superbowl. * To the joy of many, it's a year before another Superbowl.

* Excellent game with the 49'ers being equally deserving of the win.

Kaija Saariaho is contemporary classical music indeed, very much so.

Ludovico Einaudi and Max Richter however belong to what is called neoclassical. Although written for essentially the same classical music instruments and ensembles, contemporary classical and neoclassical are not the same.

So, the trip to Louisville is over, came back with this little lot
Part of my college days were spent in Louisville and my wife is from there so I know the city well. Nice finds!

My favorite part is where you're already halfway through the Malted Rye. 😂

That Reservation Rye is good. As is the OF Rye. 👍🏻

Haha, we cracked that open on the first evening. I also forgot the Henry McKenna 10yr bottled in bond in the photo. Added for accuracy

I’d say that that’s putting it very generously, though.
They’re both pop.
Yeah now and then I try to be nice. Initially I wanted to add, that in my view neoclassical is classical-ish.

Having said that, there is a wide variety in musical tastes, so there is a place for neoclassical (albeit not in my listening sessions).

I've always viewed neoclassical as a crossover genre. It can, and does pull casual listeners in who want to continue exploring these various (usually) solo instruments and who will often discover the vast world of Bach and Brahms and Rachmaninov, all because they decided to go a little deeper than Einaudi.

And why go with ein Audi when one can have zwei Audi?

I watch football when the Bears are in the Superbowl, and baseball when the Cubs are in the World Series. 😎
