Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I also asked over on AVSForum for some suggestions regarding computer speaker setups. One of the people over there recommended that I buy the AIYIMA A07 instead of the Rekkr. But previously when looking at Rekkr reviews I came across this one where he talks about the Rekkr being much better at desktop listening levels.

...

Does that match everyone's experience? I know the A07 and T9 Pro are different, but they're both class D amps from the same company.
The majority of those on AVSForum seem to share a certain mindset.
1) Measurement first. They acknowledge a place for subjectivity but are hostile about it. Self loathing, maybe?
2) If a measurement is good, then more of it is good. You see it particularly in the subwoofer sections. Thinking along the lines of, "well, if 90dB at 21Hz is good, then 150dB is better." (note the contradiction to @Ableza's sig line).
3) Class A amps are wasteful, class AB amps have been eclipsed by class D. This latter has been a staple since class D came out. Despite also saying, "this year's class D amps address ALL the shortcomings of last year's!". Again, self loathing, maybe? see also bullet 1.
4) a certain "we're always right" attitude...

I use avsforum for fact gathering, ignoring opinions due to the above. So, if I need an amp that actually puts out exactly 212W at 4Ω, I look there. If I need an amp that sounds good, well, then, I don't go there :)

P.S. Also the stuff they like is really quite hideous, aesthetically speaking.

For me, this pretty much sums up everything that's to be said about that topic.

Is there an actual electrical code that specifies this? I work in a building that was specifically built for us back in 2017 and all 120V single phase outlets are oriented ground pin down. The 120VAC in the walls of the optical labs is the same way. Then we have 208V single and 3-phase. Those are specific to our equipment.

And no, I didn't watch that.

Don't know about your particular state or country, but to my knowledge, the US' NEC doesn't require any particular orientation, only that the wiring itself is done to code.

As an Aiyima A07 and Rekkr owner, I concur with the assessment that Rekkr is a better amp for desktop use -- at least in my case. In fact, Rekkr has replaced the Aiyima with the Aiyima in the HF Classifieds section (for cheap) awaiting a buyer.

Am I the only one who finds that the Six Moon reviews are filled with really dense text that's hard to understand? I'm sure they mean well, I just struggle to understand what they're actually saying.
Six Moons was actually enjoyable back when Srajan first started it, while living in the US. Then over time, and particularly after moving to and bouncing around Europe, the prose became denser and more verbose and the equipment reviewed more and more expensive and esoteric. I haven't read it in years.

I think it’s recommended only, but that comes from NECA 130-2010 modified in ‘16 as 130-2016. So I guess if you’re one that reads and heeds the contractors association recs, then the ground pin is on top, and poor Tinkerbell is arse over teakettle.

I heard of them solely because I was thinking about acquiring a Lyr 1and was looking to see who wrote about it. His/Theirs was one of the reviews I found, but was the hardest to plow through. 3/4 page of text, spread over about 6 pages with advertius interruptus of heretofore unheard-of quantities. (Do I sound like him yet?) That was one of the nastiest reads ever, approaching the complexityof a local tv station web page, if you get my drift.

I despise that sort of page. But I am still in awe of Lyr 1 (and 2, and 3).
