Here's my advice on cables: let your pocketbook be your guide. If the cost doesn't scare you and you want to give something a try, why not? If the cost scares you or you think it's silly or stupid to pay that much, then don't. Just don't judge others. Each of us have our own priorities and biases and desires and can judge with our own ears.
Me, I tend towards the function over form camp and don't want to pay more than I have to in order to get proper function. But if you want to spend $13K on one-meter Nor-Kost Mega Cable, then that's fine by me. Just keep your "ooh it's so much better than everything else" comments to yourself, please. Because you don't (and can't) know that.
Custom-shop Hart Audio. Got a second one just like that, but ¼"-terminated instead of XLR.
Doesn't sound any better than stock, but it's so much nicer to deal with in every other way. Worth the 100 bucks, and supporting a small Texas family business in the process. Win-win-win.
Indeed. Since it improved the SQ on my lower cost cans, the cables are staying.
Incidentally, I also discovered my Jot 2 sounds so much better (warmer, meatier bass) if I used my Magni amp as a preamp to the Jot2.
All this “talk” about how bad Class D amps are…. But yet I am sitting here listening to The Alan Parsons Project MoFi LP on my Audio Research DS450 Class D amp. It sure makes my Maggie’s sing.. just saying. And all my interconnects and speaker cables are by Blue Jean Cables.
