This sounds amazing on my new GS2, I would have gotten it earlier based on just the bass/double bass plucking I’ve heard on multiple albums.

Listening via 6xx, Vali 2+ with an NOS RCA 6SN7 (wgt I think) Yggy GS2. Totally sick.
Totally Sick indeed! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I listened balanced last night with my 6xx, 660s2, and 600. At least for me, the bass was as tight and controlled and as substantial as I would want. Even slightly more bass would have been too much. For those of you who talk about the Senn "Veil" or that they lack bass, I would suggest to look at your audio chain. Having just had the Yggy GS for a week, I can tell you that it is a major game changer. YMMV

Pi 4. And I do t think it's not a rumor but fact, but who knows.
The Pi 5 is the way when you can get one (pishop.us has 4GB in stock). They moved the GPIO, I2S/C and the USB off the SOC and into the new RP1 chip. Ethernet is still on a separate chip. For me driving an Allo Digione with BNC to Coax cable into the Bifrost 2/64 there was a slightly better resolution over the Pi 4. The transients are now sharper and less rounded compared to the Pi 4. Not to mention I also hooked up a 2TB nvme directly to the new pcie connector using the PineberryPi.com Hat card. HDParam speed measured at 405MB per sec over Gen 3x1 connection.
The Pi 4 is still a great board for a music server. Best performance to date, IMO, comes from the latest addition to the family. For a new build the extra $5 is worth it. Only problem Pi3/4 cases don't fit.

Yeah. Looks like Pi 5 is a great candidate to replace my Pi 3B. I REALLY like the Argon One v2 Pi 4 case, so I'll wait for availability of their Pi 5 case and of course ensure that Ropieee software for Pi 5 is ready to go.

Since Argon already has a USB nvme version of their case a Pi 5 upgrade can't be far in the future. I use Raspberry OS and Jriver so can't comment on Ropieee.

I have enough to do with Pc's in my daily life, and although a Mac mini has a good use case under certain circumstances, at the end of the day, I want my music system to look and be used like a Hi-fi and not be like an office server room.
A Pi system suits me far better and, as a bonus, is considerably cheaper.
I use two Pi's in different systems and have a third pi on the way. I loaded them with Volumio, attached a Hifiberry coax HAT (I wasn't a fan of USB, at least not in the early days,) and a 7" touch screen. This gives me a far superior user interface for music playback and CD-quality sound. All the Pi's share music stored across a local network from a Windows 10 PC in another room.

DIY box with 7" touch screen version. Volumio seems to detect what screen you are using and changes the display accordingly.

For this one I used a 10 year old unused 14" screen. The Pi is bolted to the back.

Holy Pi-Fi (with a HAT), @PBraith You've inspired me. Volumio, eh? After I rip apart the dishwasher in this rental home (friends, DON'T put labelled jars into the unit [my fault]... KitchenAid garburator cannot properly expel it... and ***, don't let prior tenants smash the *** utensil basket... bottom plastic shards are also probably hiding in the pump chassis),
...I might replace my Chromebook source with a less obtrusive Pi-kit.

Re: repairing schiit that's not my own. My landlord gave us a good deal on the monthly rent, however, repair people are few-and-far-between up here on the North Bruce Peninsula (population <3800 [+2 {us}]). And the owners 4h south of us. I can't wait.

I can assist with the Quartz.
Now we just need Virgins, Unicorns, Milk of the Muses and a Cryo Treatment Facility.
Anyone?
@Paladin79 was in the cable business. Maybe he has a cryo facility we can use?
