Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Not a very scientific approach and I suspect their minds were already made prior to the review of each product. Funny and probably more spot-on than some care to admit. They should just stick to computer stuff, however. :D
I like when they take some random product outside of their wheelhouse and give a normal consumer perspective. Content like this, while mainly meant to be entertaining and not informative, can help break the circle jerk.

And I do the exact same thing with Cabernet. Synergy is everything. For instance, tonight I grilled some ribeyes and herbed tomatoes in the rain. Both were just so good and I could not believe how moist they were. And, to expand with the sine wave, both my black cats hung out with me in the rain, at night, and that added a level a darkness that was otherwise unachievable.

lol, sounds awesome!

Speaking of audio retrofits, I's inclined to put a stock-upgrade receiver in each o' the vehicles that I maintain. E.g. the down-until-further-notice GMC M11006: I already have plans for a seven-on-the-floor, spec. a MAGNA 7MTI550, plus a 4x4 retrofit using 9" Curries fore and aft. I found a practical retrofit receiver in the 1 Factory Radio 638.01007C; the ideal woofers, part o' the KENWOOD® XR-1703HR Two-Way system. Ideal midrange-tweeters for the cab doors are FOUNTEK® FR595EXE behind General Motors 15724868 grilles; ideal coaxials for the C-pillars are LANZAR® MX462, which I'll use behind the stock grilles. Haven't confirmation on installing two REKKR™ in bridge mode for both Dutch-door woofers (perhaps two more for the cab-door woofers).
Schiit Rekkr requires 6VAC power source. "12 volt" DC won't work. :slight_frown:

When they work perfectly though they sound incredibly good and the glass bundled toslink made ones (to me glass bundle construction sound better than plastic fiber) aren't that expensive compared to esoteric USB or Coax or AES cables.
Why not SPDIF coax? Toslink adds electrons to photons and back to electrons conversion complexity.

If there’s four breasts on the floor, you’re looking at a cow, son. I mean, to each his own and all. Really. Well, mostly. Actually, that’s just damn weird. :relaxed:
Udderly amusing! And I drove a 2001 TT for 13 years. Fun as all hel, but underpowered compared to the current sled.

I get where are coming from, except where you have the word "cable" I use the word "whiskey"... everything else remains the same....

Diminishing returns of course. I like to find the right whiskey at normal prices and found the right one that gives maximum synergy per price. It propelled my perception of USB interface from mediocre to awesomesauce!

Cheers, and to each their own 😀
Unfair, good sir. You neglected (read: failed miserably) to mention the dram you found! 1792 full proof, Dickel 13 yo, Yellowstone, Uncle Nearest? And I do realise the Dickel is a TN, but a little charcoal shouldn’t come between friends, if the mash bill’s right.

My DAP/source can only output either USB or Toslink. I prefer to keep things simple or if my DAP ever decides to crap out, I’ll definitely get a music server/streamer with SPDIF coax, AES/EBU and USB, and by that time may the best interface for my system win

If the organization that sells you a DAC, or amp, or preamp sells you an add on power conditioner it implies that they know how to condition power ( I believe that they do know this). But by offering the add on aren’t they admitting that they could have just built it into the power supply?

Thanks to a fellow head-fier I have a Saga+ to play with. So I swapped out my main rig for my back up rig. So far so good. 👍🏻

SchiitrMeet December
End of the Year Wrapup, Giveaways, and Aegir 2 Preview

We'll also be giving away all of our analog products introduced in 2024 and all of our digital products introduced in 2024 to two lucky viewers. If things go as well as I hope, those are gonna be some very cool giveaways.
Just went back to check the time of the live stream tomorrow. Looks like Jason is actually a time traveller, and he brought back some goodies from the future to hand out. :robot: Very cool giveaways indeed!

Amazing. I used to listen to the show back when, in the late 90's early 2k's. I haven't listened to radio in 20+ years. A big music library, and cheap recording media, first CD's, then SSD's, then streaming, enabled me to never again listen to anything not to my taste (and no commercials, ever).

The downside: I only listen to my taste. I used to listen to a wide range on the radio. I'm probably missing out.

He would just sneak into my wife’s pottery shed and wait for the kiln to fire up.IMG_7161.jpeg Besides he is cheap labor.😉

Ahhh sorry, I collect whiskey like @bcowen and @Ripper2860 collect tubes....

Yesterdays purchase was a bottle of Bookers 2023-04 and 2 bottles of 1792 Bottle-In-Bond (Store Pick Single Barrel). Been at least two years since I have seen either one of those.

$ 90 for the bookers. $ 40 each for the 1792 bib store pick

The standard USB cable that I was using before the Curious was pretty much on a par with the AES/EBU, but it was no contest when I fitted the new USB cable. ...
K, not to be difficult but....

Maybe a comparably expensive AES/EBU cable would be even better than the expensive USB cable?

Also, didn't catch, USB cable between Yggy and what?
