From someone who has been there 3x: the only "recovery" is arthroscopic surgery with a top knee surgeon to clean up the torn cartilage bits. Anything else, including all kinds of physical therapy, is just delaying the surgery while losing fitness from not being able to move freely.

From someone who has been there hundreds of times: there's always amputation. Nice and clean.

Dude. I came asking for advice and was musing out loud, looking for feedback from those with more experience than I. I'm new to tubes and would rather not f*ck something up, particularly on a not-inexpensive device. Shipping across the border to the USA is painful.

Don't be ruffled when given some intelligent pointers. When I give them they are mostly useful indeed.
Don't be offended by the sarcasm either. You're not that long here so couldn't know I always am. Parroting doesn't help either.
And yes, this can be an expensive and unpredictable hobby. So learning to "go three steps forward and two steps back is your survival", can be confusing.
It always is.

If I had not developed hearing issues I would have gone deep deep into the wallet for an MJ3 and Freya and had months of fun comparing the two. With a suitcase full of 6SN7 types I should have been able to find many quiet backups for the inevitable tube related issues that will arise from time to time.
