Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I actually own a pair of Tyrs already, they drive my living room setup. If I could squeeze them into this loft I absolutely would, but it would require building a pedestal under the JBL 590's. The Vidars are super-powerful, I don't dare turn up the preamp past 30-40%, depending on how hamfisted the recording is.

Here's another photo to explain why I'm married to the form factor. That's my table leg to the left, (yes, my 590's are flanking a computer desk...) and the floor is soft cork from my pre-audiophile days. Never again.
P.S. 100% agreed on the Tyr quality - I'm never letting them go. When I die there's going to be a handtruck following my coffin to the gravesite.

Hey all,

Just a quick update: expect we'll be getting things open to order or pre-order starting next week. This week has been very busy with planning, testing, and other stuff, so we're a bit behind.

In the meantime, here's what you'll be seeing soon. Note the new fastener-free recurve top like Syn.

All the best,

@Jason Stoddard there’s 2 #2’s in the connections section of the Skoll manual

Yes, a D means its barely passing..... as meat.
Not at all. D is for Delicious. A for Awful, B for Barely edible, C for Cancerous.... or maybe those latter are bear and camel meat, respectively.

Shoot! time to break out the tape measure to see if the Tyr will fit where I need them to go... (hence my desire for a Tyr the same size as a Vidar, with concomitantly less power...)

Two number 2s? Well, Schiit.

PS: What's a 2 but a vertically flipped 5, right? So, it's all good.
Reminds me of King Arthur counting down before throwing the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch

A favorite of mine. The scene with, "Caerbannog" the killer rabbit gets me every time.

You might want to rerun your Manual J as well and adjust accordingly...especially if you're planning to add a used Folkvangr to your Schiit someday. :)

Yes on Valhalla 3 eventually. Not sure of timing yet. Probably not until middle of 2024.
Is it way too early to know what kind of tubes a Valhalla 3 will likely take? Wondering whether my LISSTs will work in it and/or if I should plan on having some socket savers of a particular type on hand (not to mention stashing some rarer-by-the-day NOS tubes in advance). Cheers!

For drivers, a pair of these, and probably only these:

For Outputs, likely these:

7241s pack a 7.5A heater punch... may only require a single tube - almost like a pair of 6336s in a single bottle. 🤣

Ask @bcowen about his new Fotonic TimeShare TubeStash project.
