Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

As usual being the doubting Thomas here, or I guess that ole "Missouri" 'Show Me' thing...I want to hear stuff in my own home with my own ears and stuff.

I do remember taking home (3) sets of 'large diameter" speaker cables from my local hi-fi store and testing with them. Using my wifes critical ears as an arbitrator.
Quality of build was exceptional, commensurate with the price.

Sonic-ally well...YMMV. Wound up building my own cables!

Funny how things go..
Did you test with music, or test tones? It is easier to hear differences with test tones or pink noise, where the overall sound is steady state.

Why don't HVAC installers make use of absorption refrigeration, which actually makes use of external heat? Absorption refrigeration makes use of a two-part refrigerant that requires heat rather than compression (contrasted to one-part refrigerants such as the Opteron® R-12xx series).

Heat pumps require more electricity than desirable in this heat wave affecting the SCHIIT® Texas factory.
Because nobody wants that much ammonia near their home. They’re also much less efficient. If you have free heat though the efficiency may not be important.

Some years back I conducted blind experiments with many types of wire and had one woman who could successfully distinguish between various wire types. Many said they could but only one actually did it. I generally go with a decent cable whose construction and quality I can trust.
The woman could distinguish blindly between wire types in audio, or her bra?

Speaking of Schiit, check out this image from an add for "Visit McMinnville" OR, that was in my NYT morning newsletter. What are those silver boxes on the right side of the frame, next to the turntable?

Name tags should have 2 name lines:
- Head-fi name: wout31
- Name IRL: Jos Wouters
I saw there was an airstrip close by, so maybe a third line for country? 🤔🤣😜
And a fourth line for college team preference. Those with UNC on their badge get two chances at the door prizes. 🤣

Some amps are still wired point to point, I do it using silver plated copper wire and as I recall pure silver in an amp I built for @bcowen. It is time consuming and costly. Such amps can be $5000 up new.

As far as nostalgia, why seek and refurb cars from your youth as some might do?🤪🤪
I maintain and wear a chronograph from 1980, it was among the first quartz chronographs ever made, also a gift from my wife. Nostalgia.
That was 99% silver, 1% gold wire. Geeez. You'll have everybody thinking I'm cheap.

I try to ignore the fiat system (not the car),🤪🤪 Paper has no intrinsic value, I help others and they help me. Cardboard is another matter.
Whew. You were dancing pretty close to the edge there. 🤣 🤣 🤣

Huh???? This young woman had acute hearing and was legally blind but it was also a blind test. All wires were concealed inside metal braid so the sighted could not tell a difference.

I do not appreciate the comment.

Willco. I may have to do 15 runs to get all that stuff in the C8!!!
Hmmmmm. 15 runs in a C8 versus 1 run in a Chrysler minivan. Seeing as the total driving time would be about the same, kind of a no-brainer. 🤣
