Trying to keep up with the threads here...which beer goes best with BBQ'd Russian tubes? Does a 1962 Amperex Bugle Boy go best with Texas or North Carolina BBQ'd tofu? Is an ECC88 an appropriate cat toy? Is cardboard the new anodized aluminum? Should I buy that CDN$45,000 1.5m Nordost cable for sonic nirvana, whiter teeth, and guaranteed personality? :xf_wink:

It depends. What do you want from life?

My earliest recollection of beer while in high school was this...There was also Stag beer, Falstaff, and Carling Black Label. Those brands may well be gone now.

Colt 45 was marketed heavily here in the UK back in the mid '70s.

I did get through a few cans as a teenager, but then learned about 'real ale' on draught and after that there was no going back.

I never buy any canned beer now; if I want beer at home I only buy bottles as it seems to taste so much better.

It is no substitute for a perfect pint of draught beer in a great pub though.

We never put ice in the grappa. It tasted like gasoline, if you were brave enough to not hold your nose.
Grappa! Now you're talking about a drink! Julia Grappa was a popular brand back in the day. Shots only at the end of the evening. Ice? There's no ice when shooting Grappa!

At the time it was more about ABV in a small concealable can.🤪 I prefer bottled beer myself if I am not in a bar. 452BD7BD-11DB-4E84-8E43-4994FC7FEC4A.jpeg Now for something very different, margarita in a can. I know that sounds very wrong except this is a combination of tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. No mixers, no added sugar. Much better than expected.😄

I attended a kids birthday party today deeeep in the San Fernando Valley. 104 degrees. Cheap, crappy Costco pizza (no pineapple). Even worse cake with gobs of buttercream frosting. And lukewarm crafty beer. I would have given one of my Schiit amps for an ice cold lager.

Kids have no taste. They'll drink anything...!!! 🤪

That is a car media unit, correct? I just had a Kenwood DDX9707S installed in my (as my brother calls it!) Ferd Mudstang as an upgrade so I can more easily play CDs. I am still getting used to it but I do not think I have an AUX jack on the front. How are you using the Fulla in your set up, please?

I am glad you are enjoying it!

ORT
Yep it's car audio head unit, it has a USB and a 1/8" headphone jack input. I plugged the 1/8" preamp jack from the Fulla into the Aux input of the head unit, and plugged my tablet into the Fulla and audio heaven flowed from my speakers. I have the identical setup in my cabin as my Honda Element so I hooked it up in the cabin last night and my wife and I did a 6 hour jam and we're both blown away.

Speaking of shots, it's the only way to drink this. It's possible I'm in the minority for not liking the flavor, but then flavor is not the motivation behind drinking it. 🤣

You're right! Flavour is not the point with this or Grappa, though I often forget what the point is. Oh yeah....

On one of my work trips to Bavaria, on a down day, I decided to go find the Weihenstephan brewery and see what a brewery from the year 1040 looked like. A nice drive thru the Bavarian countryside, on a Sonntag (less trucks), heading for the city of Freising. It looked like a nice place to visit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freising
Well, I drove all round the area but never found the brauerei, although every gasthaus I passed had a sign for Weihenstephaner bier. Maybe it's inside a cave, like Dora. Still not a bad way to spend a Sunday in Germany. :)

I think their brewery is near a university campus there. My wife did her Master’s at TUM and said that there was atleast some type of Weihenstephaner brewery near the school.
