Darko always thinks it costs more to go dark: "Price? US$1299 in silver, US$50 more in black."
saw that too. I like the blk but silver looks better with my Freya S I think

The Japanese market would probably love the Urd. CD is still king over there and I'm all for it. I get new songs on CD all the time.

If you look at the page number of this reply.... 6502. This too was a very popular chip back in the day. Apple ][ and Commodore computers used it for the brains... Fondly remember Z80 as in TRS-80 and Timex Sinclair. Fun times.

You know I've waited 11 months for this... Page number = 8086 --- Another historic Intel microprocessor moment. The 8086 family of processors were the start of all things PC and ultimately windows. IBM chose the 8088 for the PC. For all its limitations, the PC was a huge foundation for personal computers in business setting. Lotus and Microsoft made it a revolution with their PC software and operating systems.

Next processor/page remembrance --- when this forum reaches 68000. (I'll skip the 8087 and 8088 because that could be annoying - but those were important processors too).

It's the opposite. The black URD is $1299. The silver one is $1349.

I didn't know Donald did this --- so cool. I do a more leap-of-faith process -- stumble on to something, read and research (but not hear). And then go for it. Have done this with every component and been amazed. Could be confirmation bias too.

Bringing it back to Schiit - I started my journey with Jotunheim, Vidar and Saga+, Bifrost, and Yggy. Ordered all before hearing anything. Not a single regret or return. All amazing products. My sons have permanently borrowed a lot of them.

Look forward to hearing how you like your Starlet.

Ill be sure to post my listening impressions on the Starlett once I have some time with it. Donald said it should be even better than
the prototype Starlett I demoed back in 2021.

Glad that you are enjoying your audio gear! Jason and Mike have made quality audio gear available to just about everyone. I'm thinking back to a few decades
ago when it would have cost many thousands of dollars to purchase audio gear that was not as good as what Schiit offers in the modern day; and for a small fraction
of that price. Schiit is also an innovator that continues to make significant contributions to this hobby. Glad that the URD has finally made it to market and I'm looking forward to reading about URD listening impressions as well as those for the soon to be released Mjolnir 3.

Plenty of excellent craft breweries in California...
That's like saying they can tear down the Golden Gate Bridge because there are other ways to get into the City...

I'm holding out for 80486.

That’s not the point. Anchor was one of the oldest breweries in the country. Defined the style of “steam” beer. That brewery was an icon. Fritz Maytag revitalized Anchor in the 60s.
+100. They will be sorely missed by me.

Last I checked bridges are public works. Beer companies are commercial outfits subject to market demand. Yes, I liked Anchor Steam but they long lost their edge. Cali is full of craft breweries that offer a variety of excellent brews and so the market has spoken. The other mistake IMHO was their sale to Saporo.

Thanks team Schiit for bringing the Urd into existence. The USB switcher is the main reason I'm interested. Reality: I own 6 CDs and a much larger collection of digital files. Piping files from an mSD card (or other USB source) through the USB switcher & into a Cayin RU7 sounds heavenly and dreamlike. I imagine I could carry this usb switcher and power brick in my pocket. The alternative is stay realistic, buy the URD, and start collecting (or borrow) CDs like I did on the 90s.

Side note: I checked the SPECS hoping for SACD compatibility :) (I wondered if anyone else did the same).
Jason has said no SACD (except the Redbook CD layer). Per the website...
