I want an amp for my Grados that has tube sound, is the Piety going to scratch that itch or should I just keep planning on getting a Vali series amp?

I think Grado are special. SR 325e three amp play off.
Asgard 2
Piety
Vali 2+ adapted for 6SN7; currently 6N8S (6H8C) Novosibirsk - 1977

1st - Asgard 2, has been for a long time
2nd - Vali 2+
3rd - Piety

Piety and Vali 2+ are close.
Vali 2+ adds flexibility with tube rolling.
Asgard 2 wins by a long shot. More of everything good with the 325e.

Didn’t they already slaughter class A? With Asgard 3 and aegir and other amps that are A/B?

The Valhalla still on sale (and promised to be updated in the future) is class A if I’m not mistaken. The forthcoming Mjolnir3 will also be class A, solid-state as opposed to Valhalla’s all-tube, but more expensive and a limited run. But yeah, it would be nice with a low cost solid-state class A amp in continuous production too.

The Valhalla 2 is sooo paired with the Sinnheiser HD 650 that the Asgard 2 wins with the Grado

I can’t find any mention of Valhalla 2 being class A. It’s definitely OTL. But I’ll take your word for it. The point I was trying to make is that Asgard 3 is a phenomenal amp that is no longer class A like the first Asgard was.

I didn’t see it mention class A directly either, but the spec page mentions it being a WCF (White Cathode Follower) topology which I believe belongs to the class A family of designs.
