DL-103 all dressed up in her cap (are carts "she"s like boats?). As a testament to how much this thing is built like a tank, I was a dummy and dropped it while reattaching and it's absolutely fine after rolling across the floor. I blame my freakish double jointed thumbs.
The stylus is a tad askew to my eyes but was like that already
Definitely hearing some nice differences but still tweaking since the cap adds mass and chages the VTA slightly.
It's appropriate for response to many posts on this thread where tubes is involved and who has the biggest......supply of them!
Sometimes a tube is just a tube but............
That's me on the horse entering the city. Apparently word got out that I was on my way. It's all good though -- they'll probably erect a statue in my honor for singlehandedly solving Atlanta's traffic problems.
Coming from someone with your vast experience in audio, that means a lot. Come to think of it I learned about these locking banana plugs from you, via Blue Jeans Cable When I want to know about cardboard I ask a person who seems to be living a nomadic lifestyle.

Steve G. dropped this vid today. I must say it’s somewhat gratifying to have a ‘real’ reviewer reach the same conclusion I did when comparing these two amps.
Latest issue of The Absolute Sound (#337, 4/23) name-checks Schiit twice.
Last page, a Q&A with Scot Markwell, who once worked with TAS founder Harry Pearson but now runs a company repping some expensive brands. Talking of the need to get more young people into good sound, he said; "It would not hurt if more designers turned to making excellent but not crazily priced gear, as a few companies such as Schiit Audio and NAD do. Those guys understand that one doesn't have to spend huge amounts on a system to be able to get a convincing facsimile of the real thing."
Earlier in the same issue, reviewer Robert E. Greene describes Aegir as "beautiful amplification indeed, at a very rational price."
Must add my own thanks to Jason and Mike, whose work has me enjoying my music more than ever. Have upgraded from Ragnark/Loki mini to Freya N/Loki Max/Tyr (kept Ygg of course,) and continue to be impressed by how much more I'm hearing in familiar material. Signed up with Qobuz, but am hardly using it 'cuz I'm too busy rediscovering my CDs. Still trying to convince Jason to include a balance control on his next pre-amp, but no complaints otherwise.
Dumb question, on the amps that take dac and phono cards, will the pre outs allow the amp to be used as a source for a two channel system? I.e. if I plug the USB into a source, will an Asgard/Lyr work as a dac on the pre outs?
