At the beauty supply store, too... used to hold grandma's wig.
Chesky used the upper torso of a crash test dummy but that has to be expensive.🤪

Let's see...

#1 - OG Freya
#2 - Sys
#3 - Right Vidar
#4 - Left Vidar
#5 - 4x Octal LISST
#6 - OG Yggdrasil Analog 2 w/Unison
#7 - OG Jotunheim
#8 - Loki Max
#9 - True Multibit Card for Jotunheim
#10 - Right Tyr
#11 - Left Tyr

So, the Freya, the LISSTs and the pair 'o Vidars moved to NW Indiana to live with my brother-in-law.
He is very happy with them; main input is my (old) NAD M51 DAC, balanced out to Freya, balanced out to the Vidars as monoblocks.

All the other Schiit is still here at my house, generally in daily use (except for Sys... but I have a place for him, too).

And #12 will be... Urd? Please.

Yep, 8 for me... but MB2 will make it an easy 9
9 not counting the Magni 3 and Mimby I gifted to my son-in-law. If you count Piety, it's 10 with the 11th currently on its way,

Perhaps ironically, I brought a prototype amp home tonight that decided to misbehave.

Everything looked fine on the "preliminary checks" I outlined a few posts back (Flir fine, gains as expected, low gain not turning into full scale noise (that is, not oscillating wildly). No "fat sines" either (lower level oscillation). I didn't put it on the APx, mainly because I'm lazy. Also because it worked, and I decided to take the win and go home.

Except...as I'm listening, I decide to drop it into low gain. And the sound goes off. As in, nothing. Totally muted.

Hmm, that's weird, I thought, and switched it back to high gain. Still nothing. Then, a few seconds later, it clicked back on.

I tried it again, and it did the same thing.

Then I tried a different set of headphones. Both high and low gain work fine. Huh?

I still need to confirm exactly what's happening tomorrow, but I suspect it's going into oscillation, but only on some combinations of load impedance (headphone driver, plus parasitic C and L from the cable might just be hitting the wrong spot with one headphone, but not on another.)

So why was it muting? Because this one had the protection systems in place, so instead of lighting up the driver, it went into protection and lifted the relay. Good deal.

We'll see what it's really doing tomorrow. Probably needs a bit more compensation work.

Loki Mini+ really improves the music listening experience with my Austrian-made Q701s. They're so bass light by default, but have such great and analytically useful treble - but a bit of added lows from the Loki Mini+ and they become a more well-rounded listening experience. Not too much boosting, can't fight a driver and win, but the right amount is awesome.
I have more expensive headphones, but in looking for something with less weight and more comfortable, picked up a Sennheiser HD599SE on tremendous discount during BF. Also got the B Stock Loki Mini+ to complete my Modi 3+/Magni 3+/Sys stack. Man, what a GREAT set up. Spent a large portion of the day listening to Fleetwood Mac in memory of Christine. She and the band bring back so many memories of a better time and place, and the HP stack really hammered the emotions home. I had forgotten just how good Sennheisers can be with minor tweaks.

This is a question to owners of the Dan Clark Audio Aeon Closed X headphones:

I bought a pair six months ago and I really enjoy the sound of them, but I feel as if they could benefit from equalization. Can the Loki Mini+ or the Lokius improve the sound?
I have owned Sennheiser HD580s for 27 years, and the HD650s for 2 years, so I am accustomed to that particular balance.
Thanks.
