Thanks @Ableza - according to the TI data sheet, the input impedance ranges from 60k-ohms to 9k-ohms depending on the gain (see section 7.3.2 in the data sheet). I don't know what happens to a chip amp's input impedance if it's powered off. But in any case, that doesn't sound super-low in theory.
It's not low, you should be fine.
I run the Freya + of course but only in tube mode, and only with specific tubes. By no means would I ever say a person should buy this or that of course. I like to start with speakers and work my way back whenever possible. In my case it is Sonus Faber to an integrated tube amp. Another setup is a Cary power amp and Freya. I am back into vinyl but never really left it. I finally decided I should do it right or not at all.I am sure you are right @Paladin79
However, I am going to resist temptation for now, having entered both the vinyl, and tube, rabbit holes in the last 6 months.
I might be 'saved' by having active speakers, with built-in, solid state, power amps (ATC SCM 100 ASLs) which means that replacing power amps is really not an option.
My speakers are not going anywhere!
I had coveted some active ATCs for almost 20 years, before finally being able to afford a pair in 2007, so the only other tube amp I would consider is a preamp.
I did try the original Freya, but didn't like its tube output, so I sent it back and bought the Freya S when it was released.
I know that the Freya+ is a far 'better' design, but I think I'll stick with what I have.... for now!
The combination of Freya S and the ATCs sounds fantastic (to these old ears) and I have the Folkvangr for the 'tube experience' with headphones.
One balanced, tube preamp which looks interesting, is PS Audio's BHK Signature Preamp, but it is £6.5k here in the UK
I am also getting back into music CD’s with an Emotiva transport. I like options and suddenly any power amp I have can also be a headphone amp. I plan to teach my wife my audio gear setup once I can remember it all myself.

Not so sure... flew PHX-SFO last night on a brand new 737-900 MAX. The ride was stellar, and the noise level at cruise rivals the 787. Takeoff acceleration is phenomenal with the CFM56-78 'fans - we were up and out in <5,000 ft. Pretty darned nice.
